I know that some vehicles light up certain ECUs in the presence of the key fob, assuming the car will be started and driven away--so you shouldn't leave the fob in the (unlocked) car in your garage. I have a very secure garaging situation and like to leave the key in our cars. Will my '17 Citadel 5.7 ignore the fob until the start button is pushed and not drain the battery? Thanks for the information & tips!

Yes, you can leave the key inside and it won't cause a problem.

Durangos (not even the newest ones) do not have proximity approach activity like the newer Jeep's have.

My 17 sxt will not lock with a fob inside...
I'll get 3 horn beeps, and no lock
If you use the 2nd FOB to lock, it'll lock without the beeps. If you try to use the button on the door handle, then it'll do what you're describing even if the 2nd FOB is in your pocket.

It will beep three times at you and unlock the doors with the other key in the car. It will do that two times and then the third it will lock. It warns you twice, then says you clearly want this to happen so I grant your wish. We used to leave my wife’s purse with her keys in it when we went out clubbing. So it always warned us before it would actually lock.

I keep the second fob stored/very very well hidden in the unit 2012 citadel. I’m very rural and when I’m not I have a company mechanic who can get me in there if my chance the Tile tracker fails attached to key 1 or whatever else.

It seems to have gone into rest mode. Now.
Other than someone smashing my windows, spending hours finding my spare key. Is there any risk/problems leaving it there

You can also leave the car running and lock the doors with the fob in your pocket. I do this when I'm just running in a store for 90 secs and want to keep the interior cool/warm. I guess I also don't like short cycle off and on, too much like the worlds worst automotive technology; auto stop/start.
