Would love to hear an update on this as well. Android Auto started rolling out this week in the Sonata so I am hoping other manufactures will start soon.

It sounds like the head units will not change much but will add a feature that allows the IOS/Android device to take over control when they are plugged in. Hoping its something that can added to the 2015 models with a software update.

Apple sure does seem to be taking their time getting this out to the masses. I would think it should only require a software update to make it functional but then how would they get more money from their old customers?
I bet this is FCA dragging their feet, not Apple. After all, how will FCA sell you $500 navigation activations and $150 map updates if you can just use Apple Maps on their screen for free? (Same goes for Android Auto.)

So what happened to just driving when you're driving? Why is all this integration actually needed anyway? Yeah, that may sound like an old curmudgeon talking but still, someone earlier in the thread actually said we're 'suffering' because CarPlay isn't available yet. I still remember when automatic transmissions, air conditioning, and power locks were options for cripe's sake. Now we're all pizzed off because our car can't do everything our phone can.

If only it was that simple. Technology abuse happens all the time, ie texting while driving. Anyway, just because we can use all the features of our phones while driving doesn't mean we should.

ANYWAY, this thread isn't about any of the debate about car safety or driving habits, I shouldn't have nudged it that way. Carry on!

Not gonna lie, it's easier to use my Sirius travel link than it is to punch up gas buddy on my phone. My 2011 430N pulls all the info I need without the phone attached, and why burn up all my data navigating back home because I went for a drive and now I'm 2 hours from home and no idea where I'm at when you can get it built into the car and just click "Go Home"?

I'm 21, but close enough. Most I do with my phone is mount it to the dash and use it as a GPS if I dont know exactly where I'm going. I'm always telling my friends to put their damm phones away when I'm in the car with them.
