I asked the dealer about ordering a Durango yesterday, they said Dodge won't accept any more 21 orders but hasn't opened up 2022's yet.....
so does this mean all 2021 orders -including TNG's- are supposed to be finished by that date?2022 Durangos can be ordered starting10/6, with Job #1 on 11/24/2021
Yes, build-out date is 11/20. Well, estimated is 11/20 so I suppose in theory it could go till the 23rd.so does this mean all 2021 orders -including TNG's- are supposed to be finished by that date?
nice. hopefully a lot of members will have their new DD's before the Christmas holidays.Yes, build-out date is 11/20.
that 4/08/21 date has to be for fleet orders though. lots of customer orders after that date. mine was 9/22/21.Dodge Durango Last order - 4/8/2021 2022 Orders open - 10/6/2021 Production starts - 11/24/2021
congrats on your order!I was just able to order a ‘21 R/T w/TnG on 10/3. The dealer said that they don’t get really any warning on when a year model won’t be available anymore. Generally they will go to order one and it just won’t work and then they know. Also said there can often be a gap of a few weeks to months between when one model year is no longer available and the next one is. They told me I should have it in 3-4 months, hopefully sooner.y
I was surprised by the timeline too. No stripes and just the basic black paint. My hunch is it will come in sooner, but we will see. I was going to wait for the ‘22, but the uncertainty in the timing and current state of the market made me pull the trigger. I need it by January. Also, the R/T seemed to have very few changes on the ‘22, unless there are some cosmetic ones that haven’t been seen yet.congrats on your order!
I'm surprised at the 3-4 month estimate. unless you ordered stripes.
if JNAP is going to be building 2022's by anywhere near 11/24, then then the 2021's will need to be completed. I could see 3 months possibly, including shipping since the holiday season is involved. but anything longer doesn't make sense. unless 2022 production will be pushed back.
I've seen the '22 spec sheet posted online. nothing new I could find for the R/T. just packages and options being shuffled. it did say something about more exterior colors. but didn't give any details.I was surprised by the timeline too. Ordered my TnG 07/24/21 - still waiting to be scheduled for build as of this AMI was just able to order a ‘21 R/T w/TnG on 10/3. Well I ordered on 07/24/21, still not scheduled to be built....I heard they pushing the 2022's to January to catch up on the 21 orders....not verified with Dodge thoughWhile it shouldn't be surprising to anyone, the deals are pretty awful right now. I have a bunch of equity in my 18 lease buyout, so I have been shopping the dealers to see what it would look like to get the following: They would have to order, which would be kind of dumb to order a 2021 this late in the calendar year, and they aren't open for 2022 yet.
2021 RT AWD
-Destroyer Gray
-Blacktop
-Tow n Go
-Technology Package
-Red Brakes
-Standard Black suede seats
-2nd row captains
-Blind Spot
$62667 before any programs/discounts
3 Year Lease, 15k per year, $8k down (I know, I know you don't want to put that much down on a lease.... it was the lowest offer for my '18 so I threw it out there)
2 dealers (1 through Costco) came back with ~$690 per month
Deals are hard to come by in this market, across the industry. If the manufacturer isn’t offering rebates/incentives, you’re likely paying MSRP or above. It is a tough market to get decent discounts. I have seen a few, but pretty rare. You likely won’t have nearly the equity on the next time a lease is due, so maybe cashing it in now is a way to get a “discount” that might normally have come through incentives or the dealer. Your 8k in equity wouldn’t be there if the market is the way it is, so it kind works out, no? Maybe best to just buy your 18 at the predetermined RV and wait until you have a deal you like, but that might take a while. While it shouldn't be surprising to anyone, the deals are pretty awful right now.
