As an aside..my PPF guy used 2 different xpell thickness that was 3 mil different and was able to cover the factory stripes such that the added thickness of the stripes plus the thinner ppf was same thickness on the adjacent paint..so no overlap seamless abutment....(y)
I had asked my guy that and he didn't like the idea of seams as he said no matter how hard your try the edges show up over time. I'm gonna be curious how yours holds up over time. We'll have to compare in 5 years :LOL:

A VIN is a VIN is a VIN. No build sheets in cars (just direct from Dodge only), no fender tags, no nothing now.

Love it in the Billet. Looks great!

Picked mine up on Jan 13.How do you read the vin number, are the last four digits the actual production number?
You can get an idea of when was built off the VIN sticker. Obviously it has the month and year produced in the upper left and in the lower right it has MDH followed by 6 digits. That is Month, Day and Hour. I am still waiting to try and get the final number of Durango Hellcats produced and also a VIN list to try and determine the build order for everyone.

be interesting to see how to decode the VIN number...
For the Durango there is no "decoding" of the VIN number per se. The only thing you can get from the Durango VIN is the model, engine cylinders and AWD vs RWD. For example...
VIN: 1C4SDJH98MC603675
1 = UNITED STATES ASSEMBLY
C4 = DODGE
SD = V8 ENGINE (RD = V6)
JH9 = SRT HELLCAT (HDG = GT PLUS, JET = CITADEL, HCT = R/T RWD, JCT = R/T AWD, JGJ = SRT 392)
8 = CHECK DIGIT
M = 2021 (N = 2022)
C603675 = ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE (DODGE does not build in VIN order)

Just a note to add that the check digit (position 9 in the VIN) will change based on the values in the other fields (i.e. it's a derived value, sort of like a checksum). More info here: link

Sold one of the two DDHC's ... link to a couple of spare bits if anyone is interested:

Concerning the last 4 to 5 numbers of the VIN.

Years ago, those numbers were basically the vehicle's unique "serial number".

For instance, if you were looking for a stolen vehicle of a specific make and model....and had, let's say the monthly stolen vehicle "hot list". An enterprising young cop could give a quick peak of those numbers during a traffic stop to determine if the vehicle was listed as stolen on the "hot list" or even entered in the national database. Cause sometimes criminals change the license plate of a stolen vehicle.

Please, take all the above as a hypothetical situation.
My experience is based on "I seent it" on TV....
