I am going to swap out all 6 of my speakers and install 6 new ones and a subwoofer.

Here is what I'm going to do.

* 5.1 channel amplifier -Power Acoustik BAMF4500/5D
4500W BAMF Series Class D 5-Channel Amplifier

* 6x9 component speakers infront [haven't chosen yet]

* 6 1/2 coaxial rear speaker [haven't chosen yet]

* 8" polk audio mm840dvc

* AUDIOCONTROL
LC7i BLACK 6-Chan Line Output Converter

I'm using 10 gauge speaker cable for all speakers and 2 power distribution boxes, one for power one for ground.

Oem sub box will be used with the polk audio 8". I'm going to run it @2 ohms. Battery to trunk will be 0 gauge. To amp will be 4 gauge.

Had to purchase oem box (used) & oem rear compartment (used)

The lc7i will accept the 4 speaker inputs and add them up to a clean signal with 6 outputs. This is why I got the lc7i. It will give me front, rear, sub rca outputs.

More stuff will be used like battery post and rcas of course but no need to mention in detail.

I hope I don't mess up my 2014 limited. I'm not a expert but I'm hoping for the best. Everything will be in rear compartment in trunk.

I will post before, during and after pics.

If anyone has the wiring diagram for the speaker colors please post it or private message me it.

Should start this week or next week waiting on rear compartment and a few other things. Door speakers will be done last. I'm more worried about the wires.

Great pics' but I'm a little lost. Are you saying there is a storage space under the drivers seat that they cut out to make the box fit? I didn't know there was a storage space under that seat.

You just made my day! Mine is just a big empty plastic box. Measures about 10W x 13L x 8D. Will be plenty of room to put a sealed box for the 8" I want to use. This will definitely solve the age old problem of trying to get the sub stage up front in SUVs.

Now, I wonder what other goodies my truck has that I've never seen? :)

Use caution with this module. Generally speaking, yellow wires/terminations indicate SRS/Airbag systems on autos.

Has anyone confirmed what purpose it serves? Based on the location, I suspect it may be elated to side impact airbags or maybe be a controller for the airbag deployment system for the bags located within the seats.

If relocating this mystery module, it may be worth securely mounting it in its new place, not just "tucking it away". If it s determined this is a non essential controller module of some sort, it's not as big of a deal obviously.

Wow :shock: If that's the case the ground pounding 8'' sub would wreak havoc on that thing hopefully someone can chime in that knows what the mystery box is.

mohelp - yep, know all about the flashlight. :) The sub I'm looking at is the Sundown Audio SD-2 8". It's supposed to be a beast that can fit in as little as .25 cu ft sealed, but works best in .4 cu ft.

Cambo - I have the yellow box attached to the bottom of the seat, like you. But I don't have the module you circled. Is yours 4wd? Mine is 2wd, and I have the heated and cooled seats, but don't have the adaptive cruise or DVD players. Not sure if that box is related to those or not.

Hmm - I have memory seats as well. I'll take another look today to see if mine is hidden anywhere under there.

Ordered my sub yesterday! Now I just need to install my MS-8, then build the box. If there were any decent audio shops around me, I'd just take it there. But, I haven't found one that anyone likes yet, so my garage it is. At least that way, if I mess it up, I only have myself to blame. :)

Hey Juice75 if you build the box keep us posted on the size

I don't have blind assist , would like it this D is so dam long that is why the sub needs to be under the seat not in the storage compartment

Do you plan on adding an amp ? if so the old space from the sub? it seems tempting to just run the old sub wires up to an amp grab power from the battery under the seat and a short run of the sub control knob under the dash

some pics from someone else that did it

Thanks for the pics! Is there a write up that goes along with them?

Right now, I have an Alpine MRV-M500 running a 10" sitting in a box behind the 3rd row. Had a shop install the amp, but not completely happy with the work. The used a line out converter to take the sub signal, and convert that to RCA to the amp. Right now, the amp is sitting in the rear storage. My master plan....once I find time....is to pull out the stock sub, put the MS-8 and amp where the sub was, and put the new sub under the driver seat. I already have a bass knob installed to the left of the SD reader.

When I do all of this, I might cut out the 'Alpine' cover of the storage compartment and build a removable lid, so that I can easily get to the MS-8 and amp for adjustments. Of course, I'll take tons of pics when I finally get around to it.
