I figured I would start this thread to see what issues people are running into. I'm sure many of these will be worked out quickly but wanted to see is others are having the same issues I am.

1) Yesterday, my screen became completely unresponsive. It would not acknowledge any screen touches. This went on for 5 minutes and continued after a reboot of the system. Eventually it just started working on its own again. It started when my apple car play started up.

2) Performance pages are glitchy. They seem to crash when I select the certain performance page I want to view. Without fail, the G Force page crashes and reverts to the home page every time I click on it.

3) I am unable to add more than one profile. I called Uconnect and they said an update will be pushed out soon to add up to 5 profiles. Is everyone having this issue?

4) Screen not dimming when headlights are on while using apple carplay. It seems like its on full bright even when headlights are on only when on the car play screen.

New Bug!!

System does not go through all saved Sirius saved favorite channels when using the steering wheel control.
I noticed it would always return to the 1st saved favorite slot after it hit (in my case) saved favorite #8.
I also noticed that when it hit that #8 saved favorite slot it would not highlight it but it did play.

FIX: Delete the saved favorite slot that did not get highlight as you would cycle through the saved Sirius favorites using the steering button control. Re-add the channel and everything works.

Note: Power cycling the system allowed it to work correct just once then it would always return to the 1st saved channel after it hit saved favorite slot # 8.

I had the exact same problem with a different slot number. The problem I found was that Sirius changed the channel number. While the new number was displayed and saved, I know it was changed. I too wound up deleting the channel by saving a new channel...then the old channel with the updated number. Problem solved. Never had this issue in my 8.4???

Because one would think the new flagship Grand Cherokee L that uses the same system would be upgraded so why not the Durangos.
Either FCA is using the upgraded versions for the JGCL or there is no update for anyone and FCA is releasing a new model with a broken Uconnect system.
I guess if they could do it with the Pacifica and Durango they can do it with the new L?

@Vice-White did you reply back to Dodge Cares? I see they are reaching out to you. Good news!
Today I got a health report from my car! Are things starting to work?? Let's hope!
Yes I replied back to @DodgeCares within a few minutes but I have not heard from them. My Health Report is due on the 8th (1st one was April 8th) I hope. Funny thing is, my wife's brand new Jeep on Mopar.com says it is not an available feature. Uconnect/Mopar etc are all screwed up. Thank goodness I love my Durango enough to deal with these problems.
I even went to a few auto magazine outlets asking them if they want to do a follow up on the new Uconnect system based on an owners view. LOL Nothing on that front.

I’ve just joined this group tonight, seems like everybody is having their issues with this vehicle! I’ve had my Durango R/T for 3 months now, I like the vehicle but plagued with problems! Does anybody else use this vehicle for towing in hilly terrain? I have a 4,000 lb. cargo trailer and you throw an incline in front of it and immediately it’s over 3,000 rpm. A 50 km. (30 mile) round trip burns over a 1/4 tank of gas, mid single digit fuel economy! A 3.09 axle ratio doesn’t do it, what were these engineers thinking? What about the warning that comes up when you touch 2 pedals together and going into limp mode for a few seconds? Plus the the problems with the center stack? I’s been replaced once, the RF converter has been replaced once and still my phone doesn’t connect, but it receives calls and when you make calls manually they turn up over the system. The touch screen doesn’t work well, very glitchy! And now my nav. Is stuck in Rochester New York. In got rid of a 2019 F150 Ecoboost for a smaller capable vehicle, the truck did the work and burnt a lot less fuel and the center stack worked. Any ideas of what a person should do next? This thing is turning into a real turd! Also all software updated are up to date.

Wishful thinking....... My DodgeCares person called me last Friday because I am on their "enhanced customer service" list. I was not able to take the call at the time and Tracy from DodgeCares left a voicemail. I called back an hour later and another woman answered telling me that Tracy had left to take a late lunch. She said she would have her call as soon as she returned. It's now Tuesday and no call back from her or any other kind of contact from DodgeCares. I have given up on getting the update and will never purchase another FCA vehicle. I also own a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. For the two years I have owned the vehicle, I receive meaningful map and firmware updates from Hyundai every 4-6 months like clockwork. Why is it Hyundai can do it and Dodge cannot?

Super sorry to hear that you haven't been receiving consistent communication from your customer service representative! I'd like to look into this so I can help you get reconnected. Can you please send us a private message with your case number?

I just bought my 2021 Durango GT Plus about 2 weeks ago, and I am now having this same issue. Sometimes when I start up, my driver door speaker doesn't work, and the volume knob doesn't change the volume. All other speakers work. A reset or restart will often fix it, but it's happening about 50% of the time. I took it back to the dealer for service, and they thought it was just the driver speaker so they replaced it. I thought it was working fine after that, but within two days the speaker stopped working again.
I was wondering if there was some sort of damage to the electronics after I had my windshield and front window tint put on, because that's when this issue started happening. I read somewhere that the water they use to install it can leak into the dash and cause electrical problems.
However, after reading this forum, I'm wondering if it's just a software bug. Has anyone else had issues with their speakers? I'm curious before I go calling the dealership again.
Thank you!

Another bug. Uconnect nav is now blank on the home/widget screen. Works fine on the nav page, but not working anymore on the split screen.

Also I don’t know if it’s related to uconnect, but when I put climate on AUTO, it sometimes jump back to MANUAL climate. I have to press AUTO again.

@DodgeCares 99 percent of the people who are having Uconnect issues are simply due to programming bugs and nothing else.
These people (such as myself) are told by the dealer there are no updates nothing they can do until updates.
I have listed over 18 bugs or short falls in the programming and almost all of our members who posted in this thread have the same exact issues.

We have been told 1st qrt then end of 2nd qtr and we are now in the 3rd qrt. Dodge/Uconnect has even told some members the actual version that is going to be released.
If you can get some clarifying information for the Durango owners it would be super appreciated.

For me, you are my only contact on this issue since my case manager has (Fredy) has decided I am not a worthy customer to be supported. No contact in over a month with numerous emails from me as well as @DodgeCares nudging my case manager to respond to me. That type of customer service person should not be employed in the customer care industry if the intent is to ignore customers or in one case, a different rep (when this all started) flat out lied to me. He stated he is a beta tester for the new Uconnect software and would contact his engineering group for an update and that he would call me the next business day with an update. Guess what, no call, shameful 😞

I apologize for the mini rant on the forum but it's all I have since the Uconnect support platform is severely broken.

Good afternoon,

Your frustration surrounding your concerns is valid and I'm sorry to learn that you haven't received the most consistent communication throughout this process. However, I am glad that you're entrusting our team and allowing us the opportunity to support you in any way that we can! I understand that a majority of the Uconnect concerns may be connected to software configuration. Since everyone has a specific vehicle model, with a unique software version, and everyone has taken various steps to get their concerns addressed-- it's important to our teams to make sure that we understand each situation, individually. We do not like to speculate on what may or may not be the cause/resolution to your concerns; since each situation is unique and should be treated as such.

If there are specific symptoms that you would like us to look into, we would be more than happy to do that! However, I don't want to provide you with a tentative release for a software update without knowing which symptoms you are referring to, specifically. For example, if you do not have the ability to add multiple user profiles, this software update is now projected to be released at the end of Q3 as software level R17.73 for the Durango model line. While our teams were originally informed that you'd be receiving this update as a firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) update, Uconnect will be now be issuing a Customer Satisfaction Notice (CSN). This means that customers will now be receiving a USB stick (containing software update level R 17.73) in the mail, which should allow you the ability to add up to 5 profiles.

I hope this provides you with some of the transparency and clarification you were hoping for! Please let me know if you have any other questions I can answer for you.

I just received my SRT 392 on 5/20/21 and 2 weeks afterwards as I was driving the radio just quit working, thought I hit something, I rebooted the system and nothing, turned off my phone figured it did something and got nothing, restarted the car and still nothing, pressed the assist button and they couldn’t help me, so I called the dealership and they said bring it in, so they had this tech take a look and he went and got some device and plugged it into the OBD Port and then went on his phone and within seconds he had it working 👏🏼 So I asked what caused it and he said they don’t know and it’s a problem with all the radio’s and for all those he reset they never came back with the same problem. I asked what if it happens again and they said they would have to replace it, even Dodge doesn’t know why this happens, it’s just something within the system! So far it hasn’t happened again and it’s now 7/9/2021
If you ever need additional support while working with your dealer to get your concerns properly addressed, feel free to send our team a message! We can certainly leverage the resources we have available to us and assist alongside your visit. I hope your concerns remain resolved!

UPDATE! I called my dealer yesterday and they called back. So the story goes, that if your Uconnect is restarting, going blank etc... it is updates getting pushed thru. Now they don't tell you that you are getting them because they are just sent via satellite. Can anyone confirm with noticeable changes as in anything fixed, update number difference, etc?
Hey @Shan4uk -- Are you still experiencing these behaviors with your Uconnect system randomly rebooting? As stated earlier, I'd be more than happy to look into your specific vehicle to see if there are any potential resolutions in place. Let us know if you have questions about anything!

Stop with the trolling unless you put up proof of what you are saying. Which is bull simply because you think you know. If you are so enliughtened why did you waste your money on a Durango, Mr all knowing?
I have been right every time. So let me know what you find. Its going to be the same. I am still wondering why i wasted my $ on a dodge to be honest.

you’ve been right about nothing. You make up timelines. Not hard to be right about Dodge being useless with Uconnect updates. Start adding something worthwhile to the convo because you’ve continued to just troll the thread.

In other news,

Finished a cross country 5600km trip towing. mileage was 18.9L/100km and was in tow mode the entire way and 95-115km/h depending on province/hwy. Carplay worked flawlessly zero disconnects. Nav worked great with traffic and construction and speed cameras. All in all performed and towed great and consumed way less gas than the 2012 F150 and 2015 2500 it replaced.

Went to my local dealer on Wednesday when my nav wasn't working, just another thing going wrong with this vehicle. The shop foreman took a lot of information off the center stack and sent it off to tech support. Today they got back to me and gave me the low down on what's happening with my vehicle, they won't replace my radio again because the problem is the current software. They'll replace the radio and put the current software into it, I'll have the same problems, new software update, maybe late fourth quarter this year! Not performance, my car has been having problems since the day I took delivery of it. I remember the term "Scat Pack" for Dodge performance vehicles but it has a different meaning to\ me.

You could use apple play or android Auto. My 2015 Uconnect in me Ram and Jeep GC was outstanding. The new Uconnect in the 2021 Durango models is poorly programmed and even more so, poorly tested. I just found with my 2021 JGC there is NO longer voice to text option, only pre-defined messages. That sucks since Mopar expects you to use Android Auto or Apple play to send text messages via voice recognition. Mopar has a bunch of people running their Uconnect integration department that are stuck in 1997.

With all the problems with my 2021 Durango R/T a old/new has surfaced on the weekend again. The keyfob wouldn’t open my doors or tailgate again, then it wouldn’t recognize the fob to start the vehicle. Eventually it did start! A 3 month old vehicle, how much more can go wrong? After all that I’ve been through this vehicle can’t do anything right, the FCA people are of no help at all, they seem indifferent to your problems and they don’t follow through on promises that they make. If you tell me you’re going to call back tomorrow then please do that! I still like the 1/2 of my Durango I get to use, the other glitchy half and FAC are so tough! Anybody that is reading this blog to make a decision to buy a Durango, wait a couple of years or just don’t buy one! Please understand that the radio, RF converter, and sofware have been replaced and update to current. They say that there won’t be another software re-write until late Q-4 which means next year, right now I can’t trust taking this thing anywhere and getting back reliably.
