Hello Everyone!! I just purchased a 19 Durango RT for the hemi and the extra towing capacity. I previously had a traverse with a towing package. I like a moron didnt buy the Durango with the Hitch factory installed. The dealer insisted they could install the towing hitch to factory specs so instead of waitng for one to arrive I went with the one they had at the dealership. In my old vehicle I had the tekonsha brake controller installed which i installed myself. I watched a ton of youtube videos where people installed the brake controller on a durango in like 5 minutes. For some reason my vehicle does not have the connector that is installed in the previous model year vehicles. I even took it to the dealer and they could not find the connector. Has anyone else encountered this issue or is this something new for the 19 vehicles? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Ok my dealer is not as accommodating as Shelby’s but so be it. Shelby, love the white on black. Your next project can be to add those blue stripes on your own, I thought I could wrap with vinyl, forget that. Would need another thread to discuss that undertaking. Anyway, I ordered the Bluetooth receiver. I’m going to play with that for a bit and will update you all on what my experience is with it. I hate that I had to revert to that but time is of the essence. Bluetooth/NFC are both localized and doesn’t have dependency on WiFi or data. So I hope once the app is open and operable the convection between the connector and mobile device is solid. I just spoke with my neighbor and told him about my experience and said that Dodge is known for random and meaningless engineering changes. He did however mention like MJreiland did Im the other thread that a good shop could likely run an appropriate module etc. I’ll check out the link you all included to report my concern. For time being Bluetooth test here we come. Thanks all I appreciate the assistance. Shelby let me know if you decide to wrap those stripes on the new one. Oh and stop rubbing it in that you have a factory tow package now hahaha.

Please let me know how the new unit works. Working on a new stripe scheme now. Was thinking fender stripes. I know that I will see my old truck around this small town. It's going to bother me. Bitter sweet! Well I hope everyone makes it camping, who knows maybe we will all run into each other some day and have a beer around a camp fire. Good luck man and persu this wrong doing. Such bullshit!

Thanks, Shelby.
Yes, ordered the Macan with towing package, but added a brake controller myself. Of course, the 4-pin plug was there. On my GC; harness, hitch and brake controller are installed. It needs now only to be dealer activated.
Very difficult to find a newer one with factory towing package. Regardless, factory or self/dealer installed the truck has still the same engine- and brake power. About the travel trailer. maybe on another forum, if you like, I can tell you about I added a 2000/4000 Watt pure sinus inverter, such a convenience, which powers my refrigerator when traveling, runs also the coffee maker in breaks, etc..

Will do. I see my Charger around town all the time. It was an Hellcat and it was black on black with red racing stripes. It was bitter sweet at first but over time I’m like oh there it is. I’m glad someone else is enjoying it. It would be cool to join y’all for a beer one day. Who knows. I’m in NC so if y’all ever out this way look me up! Safe travels to this camping and pulling trailers with their non-equipped vehicles. I’ll send updates once I get this Bluetooth device.
