i know theres lots of people on here with way more knowledge than me on this topic as i'm young and trying to learn about my Durango. From my previous post i’ve been dealing with a intermittent stalling issue/no bus and i’ve pretty much narrowed it down to either a loose/bad solder on my PCM or a bad PCM connecter. now i found and ordered a new PCM again.. and if it solves my issue great, but if it doesn’t i most likely need to replace the connector which is gonna be tedious but the issue now is finding a connector. now my question is, are all 3 of the PCM connectors different or just have different pin layouts? i was almost ready to order one off of ebay but ended up finding this on rockauto. would it work for my pcm connector relating to the one closest to the firewall if i pin it out correctly? any feedback is greatly appreciated and thank you

so when i go there, i can see the different pin layouts and what should go where. i know all the connectors are a 32 way but i don't see the repair kit is available for my DD
What year durango do you have? Look at the part numbers...are they different? Also it shows you the shape of the connectors so you can compare if they are identical. When searching use "powertrain".

So the 1st gens appear to be NGC PCM which I believe has 4 connectors which if you look closely are keyed differently.

my connecters look totally different, i have a 2000 5.9L with 3 connectors leading to the PCM. to my eyes they all look identical besides colour, and of course pin layout depending on which connector you are looking at of course.

mine look exactly like this, and to me they all look identical, but i just wanna make sure before i order anything
 
The ones you show look different in that the tabs don't appear to be located in the exact same positions. Have you tried to plug them into the PCM (battery disconnected) to see if they are interchangeable?

i have not yet, but im gonna dive into changing the PCM tomorrow if that fixes my issue than i should be good, otherwise down the electrical rabbit hole i go again

What codes are you getting? Maybe you can use this FSM link to see if they have diagnostic steps?
so when my Durango stalls, i get a no bus on the dash, but no codes. when my OBD scanner is plugged in i get no communication to the pcm.

to fix the stall i have to wiggle the pcm connector so i just automatically assume its one or the other and honestly finding a PCM has proven easier than a new connector.. definitely not cheaper
 
How is this going for you? I had my DD start stalling on me, just like yours did with the NO BUS display. But it didn't happen until the hot weather got here. I also bought a PCM and installed it ($450). I'm still in the process of checking it out. No stalls so far but the weather has been cooler lately with temps around 80. I didn't try jiggling the connector when it stalled. I just waited, or dribbled water on the hot PCM to get it started again. '99 DD with 152k miles, 5.9L engine.

i ended up narrowing mine down to the actual PCM itself and ordered a replacement one cause i got screwed over out of lifetime warranty by the last company i went with. what i noticed was though that might help you out, when i did stall my PCM would be extremely hot. like to the point i couldn’t even touch my fender on the passenger side. if yours is getting extremely hot where water is needed to cool it, its probably most likely the pcm. what you can also do is when your new one does arrive inspect the old one. see if there are any loose pins possibly causing a short

I also went around and disconnected all the ground straps that I could find, and cleaned them and reconnected them. Also cleaned the battery connections in the PDC. Today is hot weather again (90's F) so I drove it to the store and back with the A/C on full all the way. And it didn't stall out on me! The PCM was pretty hot to the touch when I got back, but everything in the engine bay was hot to the touch at that time. I'm going to start trusting the Dodge again! Hooray! '99 DD, 5.9L, 152k miles.

where did you end up getting your PCM from by the way? glad shes working good! i think what killed mine was a bump i hit way to hard and shook a pin loose, so i put some rubber washers behind mine to minimize vibration

I've been getting my DD worked on at a local shop in my town (not the local Dodge dealer, who are cutthroat thieves), so the mechanics know me. When I called them about buying a new PCM the mechanic, Roger, said he knew of a really good place in New York that handled Mopar electronics exclusively. So I had him order one through that company. It cost a little more than NAPA but Roger says it is good. I'm glad you got your loose connector fixed.
