If your Durango has the 10.1" Uconnect system and was built April or later of this year, do you have the ability to add profiles and/or are you experiencing any issues listed at?

Thanks

Yes, mostly down. I think we've used the infotainment system about 10 times in the last 2 months. Comfort system down, no volume, no tabs across the top, android phones won't connect, the list is endless. Went to the dealership, they weren't helpful. Looks like a whole new unit but they said even the new ones were reporting problems.

I can and have successfully added profiles. My iPhone has crashed and restarted at least once on its own after using google maps via CarPlay. My phone has not successfully connected via CarPlay multiple times and recently had to unpaid and remove my phone from the UC and re add as well as mess with my settings for CarPlay on iPhone to get it all working again. I even plugged in via usb and got bupkiss.

Can you post a picture of your version number? Can you add multiple profiles? That is what everybody here is having problems with. Making one is easy, but then there is not a button to add aa additional....

Built 8/21/21 and delivered to dealer 9/7/21 when the PDI was done. Not sure if they would have flashed it with a firmware update at the dealer.

i have 2 profiles on mine. wife is #2 (although she's the main driver) and i am number one.

it is a little slow to load, but otherwise has been working fine for the 2 weeks we've had ours. we ordered early august and the build date is sometime in september

i did have one issue where only i was in the car with my android and i couldn't connect because it kept searching for the wife's phone. i did everything i could besides erasing her profile and phone. then this past weekend we were both in the car at the same time and i was able to connect mine

i haven't honed in on the settings yet. i think i tried to make her phone preferred since she can get business calls at any time, but i haven't tested that out yet. she's used to connecting via bluetooth and i'm used to connecting android auto with a cable, but the new system doesn't seem to work that way

overall i'd say i've had a good experience with the new system, and i really appreciate running split screen if im not using android auto. and im stoked that they decided to run some stuff with hard buttons (heated seat and steering wheel) instead of them being imbedded in the touch screen. wife had that in her 18 GC

I am hoping that the later MY builds have some of the bugs ironed out. mine is due to be built any day now, so fingers crossed they have been making progress with the Uconnect.

and that they very soon release an update across the board for everyone.

On a side note I am disappointed that hitting mute during commercials on pandora also pauses. My 19 ram, on the other hand, mutes the commercial but keeps playing it through. Not only that, once the commercial is done it automatically un-mutes back to the song. Unless there are 2 commercials in a row, then I just hit mute again. I don't know if this works for satellite radio since I usually just change the channel during a commercial

And I'll forever be frustrated that the newest uconnect and screen STILL doesn't hold a candle to my 19 Ram's backup camera quality. I don't understand how it can be so different between vehicles of the same company using the same components. For real, wtf is the price point between using different backup cameras but the same exact drivers window/lock/mirror switch bezel in like every other dodge/jeep/ram? I think I looked up the price of the camera and my truck's is cheaper than the durango or my wife's old '18 GC

I was down at my dealer today dropping off my Jeep GC for QC work on fender flares. I know the service manager pretty well and he said the software is a main complaint of Durango owners as well as some of the new Jeep L owners.

Definitely slow to save and or switch profiles, but it is functional.

Different HW.
If true, I feel like this is gonna be a sh*t show for people with gen 1 hardware. At this point, it feels like the delay is from bean counters trying to figure out how to avoid paying for replacing all the early hardware. I'm guessing they discovered that sending out USB drives wasn't going to work. Something must be wrong with the gen 1 hardware that either prevents firmware updates completely, or maybe they have limited flash memory which the update has exceeded.

I don't think it is different hardware. No way would Dodge change hardware on a MY that is pretty much over with.
July and August deliveries had the same firmware ours has. I think the updated code was a complete mess and it broke other items.
No matter, the 10'1 UC5 systems was a theft from our pockets and for that, I do not trust Dodge and will not in the future if we do not get an update that works.

The new HW was meant for the 2022 models. They ran out of 2021 units, so they stuck them in late builds. If they cant figure out how to make sw work on older units, we will all be waiting for new units. Its gonna be a real shitshow no matter what. My lease will be up b the time they figure this out.
Vztech, do you have info on this? this WILL complicate things for sure. what's the source on this?

My service manager of my dealer unofficially told me this. That's what he is hearing. Don't take it for facts though. And speaking of December, he mentioned December if they come up with a solution. LOL, I am not joking.
