It will make No difference to me or a lot of others if the price is on par with the Trackhawk.

There are not a lot of folk willing to pay $90K for a Hellcat powered 3rd row SUV that will lose $20K in depreciation in the first year. lol
not to mention..the price of the lawyer when the wife divorces me..hahahha...The only words i could make out when i said i wanted to get a SRT was..(NO!!)...the other words she said i thought i was back in the Navy.

Wow, you guys are nice to you're wives. I told her I value her opinion and I won't do anything behind her back (this is true, I'd rather tell it to her face and piss her off then hide it). I told her "I was buying it end of story and she didn't have to agree with the purchase, but I did prefer she at least understood it and be ok with it". I still catch flack for the purchase, but she has admitted she appreciated the blunt honesty.

I lucked out. I wanted an SRT since they came out, but never thought I'd get one. A few months ago we were at the dealership getting an oil change on my 2012 DD which had 140k miles. Right outside the door was a new 2018 DDSRT, and my wife stopped to check it out. She sounded interested in getting it, so I quickly conjured up a salesman, made a lowball offer, and they accepted. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised. She drives a Hemi AWD Charger and when I drive it I get on it a bit, and yet the gas mileage still goes up. Still, she is hesitant to drive the SRT.

Well I have finally convinced my wife that the Hellcat Durango would be a good investment, LOL. We have had our 2018 DDSRT since October of 2017, so at 36,000 miles and almost 3 years old, the timing is good. I should come out a little ahead with the trade-in owing $35,000 right now. Will be less than $30,000 by the time I take delivery probably spring of 2021.

Now we are just waiting for Daytona Dodge to give us a call to let us know when the ordering opens up. Supposed to be sometime first of August. I really hope the dealers don't do a huge markup since they are only going to be making them for six months. I have bought all of my Durango's and my truck from them so fingers crossed.

They won't be limited or numbered so not sure how much value they will hold over time. Especially knowing how Dodge is, they will come out with something bigger and badder in a couple of years I'm sure.

I'm still excited to be the baddest SUV on the road for a year or two!

I want one, but it will more than likely be around $85,000 to $90,000 without dealers marking them up. The TrackHawk starts at $80,000, and I'll be willing to bet the Durango Hellcat will be more, as they usually are on other trim levels.

I also found am article from Motor 1, which quotes Tim Kuniskis saying they will be producing less than 2000 of these Durango Hellcats. They made somewhere in the 3500 range for the Demon that was a limited and numbered production 1 year gig, and we all know how that went with dealers.

Anyway, I hope they don't mess with pricing, I would like to see a few of these on the road. Here is a link to the article I was referring to, Tim is quoted in the 2nd paragraph on the page:

Yeah, I read that article. That's what has me nervous. I'm hoping by getting in early and ordering maybe I can avoid too much of a dealer upcharge. If they get too crazy I'll just be getting another 392 SRT

I was all in on getting a 2022 Hellcat as I figured any pricing markups would settle down by then. And then they aired their event and just had to announce they were a limited production for just 1 MY [emoji849]. Looks like a new SRT 392 will be sitting in the garage instead, which is still fine by me.

I'm still holding out hope. Worst case scenario I may just keep what I've got and buy an extended warranty. Then wait and see what comes out in the next couple of years. That probably would be the best financial decision although, I really want the Hellcat, LOL

I'm sure there will be a 3 row super SUV in the cards from FCA after the limited edition ends...That is typical for a manufacturer to sell a limited edition with all the bells and whistles when they plan on changing or significantly updating a platform..with the demon even if you paid up when new you still made out ok if you held on for 2-3 years...

That's what I'm hoping for with the Hellcat Durango. I'm just concerned if it will stay relevant for 2 to 3 years. May be something that I have to just keep for a while.
