On the finance thing, I think I know what's going on. That rate is an incentivized rate from Chrysler Financial. But the deal on a car isn't done until you take delivery. SO, that rate isn't real until you take delivery. Until the car arrives to be delivered, the rate could change (probably won't) and thus it can't be promised. Same with cash back incentives. If you order a car and the incentives change by the time you take delivery, only the current incentives count. This is how I have understood it to be since "ever".

But to be clear, before you sign the final paperwork, yes you want to make very sure your incentivized rate is on the paperwork that you sign.

I spoke with the dealer in NY this morning, it was an honest mistake and they are sending over the corrected contract showing 0% asap. Much happier now ! This is a good dealer, I can tell by my interactions on the phone with them. Far better than working any of the dealers here in Atlanta, believe me ! I take them at their word it was just a mistake, the finance person simply didnt know Chrysler offers the 0% deal right now on Durango, now they know. Fingers crossed the new contract arrives here soon.

I never finance anything (excpet my house) but when Chrysler offers 0%, well then yeah it would be silly not to take them up on it. My credit union did have good financing which I qualified for as well, but 0 is more better :)

Oh yeah regarding the MDX - yeah it was a FWD and I switched off traction control. Man that thing really sings up to the redline, paddle shifters are instant. If you ask for 1st gear, it pretty much gives you 1st gear, timing chains and transmission be dammed. My kinda vehicle, just too small, too expensive. And a DD R/T is quicker :)

Ditto on the 4wd in Atlanta search. You would think after snowpacolypse they would send more 4wd's our way. I need it to move my boat trailer in and out of a steep back yard. Cant tell you how stupid the Tahoe was getting stuck back there, with all of 10% of its weight riding on the rear drive axle. Told myself if I ever get another SUV, it will be AWD end of story. The radar red leather thing was just an add on i guess :) Cant wait !!

Whatever incentives are available at the time you place your order are locked in for you no matter what they are by the time you take delivery. If at the time you take delivery the incentives are better then you can switch to those instead but you always have the incentives available at the time of your order to fall back on.

Fantastic! I'm glad there was a happy ending (so far)!

Generally speaking, I agree with you. Most people in the know would probably rather have dinner with Charles Manson rathern than go to dealerships like Landmark, Palmer, and Don Jackson, etc... But I can say that Troncalli Dodge, whom I've purchased two vehicles from (2005 & 2015), has been completely square with me and I trust them. I've never had to use their service department, so I can't vouch for that, but their sales and finance folks are quite good and they don't subscribe to the scumbag tactics of the others.

There are more 4WD trucks on dealer lots than you can shake a stick at...but 4WD suvs? Not a one. The solution is to get all the ******** (of which I kinda are one) to give up their pickup trucks and get Durangos! But I guess then you'd have to deal with seeing "bubba Durangos" on the road on 12" lift kits with 37" tires.

HAhaha I agree !

I heard so many bs stories from dealers around Atlanta. This thing gets 43 mpg. Those premium Napa seats are suede and absorb sweat and smells, not real leather, you dont want them. Yes you can get a dodge factory roof rack installed on an R/T, then just use a luggage carrier on the roof (in discussion about how I needed 2nd row bench instead of captains chairs). There IS NO 2016 Durango. They are stopping at end of 2015 then waiting until 2017 to release the wagoneer, you better buy this 2015 now or else (when I directed him to the 2016 Durango press release he wrote it off as marketing propaganda, they hadnt told HIS dealer yet about any 2016!) ... it went on and on and on.

These turkeys ONLY wanna sell you whats on their lot. You want a granite Durango ? We got a turquoise Venza, how bout that?!

Hey while you're on this thread - can you direct me to a GOOD service shop in Atlanta? Im in Roswell, stones throw from Palmer but no idea if I'd wanna use them for service. They did let me drive a few DD RT's (2wd of course). Actually not much pressure and pretty good inventory, no idea how their service is though. Always saw lots of people in their waiting room. It would be convenient.

Thanks again for all help and suggestions.

Yep thats what the dealer I bought from told me as well. since Im buying off their lot, the deal should close next week so no change anyways in the incentives. I bet as the year draws to a close, you will start seeing even better deals from Chrysler, unless the Fed raises rates that is ...

Palmer is actually where I got my Magnum SRT8 serviced for many years. I recommend them for service IF AND ONLY IF you work w/ Roberto Del Campo as your service advisor. Call up their service team and ask for Roberto and tell him Glenn Harper referred you to him. He should take good care of you.

That being said, I will be giving Troncalli a try for service on my new Durango. I've yet to use them for anything but I've not heard any bad stories about them...and they're closer/easier to get to than Palmer for me now. I'll let you know how that turns out.

I just got it back to ATL last night around 10pm. Wow this thing is the Devil's Chariot. I was doing my best to break in the engine and not wind up in jail for speeding (again). If it wasnt for Waze I'd probably be going in front of the judge about right now !

I worked with a dealer called Chilson-Wilcox in Painted Post, NY. The salesman was Ron. What a terrific dealer, I wish they werent 15 hrs from Atlanta. I got to stop in and visit my parents yesterday in Maryland to break up the trip too so it worked out well.

Back to the original question, I highly doubt I would of bought a 1 way ticket then driven 15 hrs over 2 days for a 2016 Pilot. The red leather is beautiful, and that auto cruise control is the best option Ive ever gotten. Cant tell you how many traffic jams I had to sit in between NY and here, the ACC was a dream come true. It was really fun to accelerate onto hwys and out of traffic stops and let that big Hemi rev up. Sounds awesome. I managed to net about 22 mpg, cruising between 60-85 mph. As I got closer to ATL I pushed it a few times to over 100 so the mpg started to take a hit. Bet I could of netted about 23 if I drove more reasonable ,but I just couldnt :)
