And this is the s-10 with the same blotchy housings as the 1st Gen D . So hids in stock 1st gen housings virtually useless and a big no no

once again not trying to come off ignorant or thread jack by any means . But it can be done with multiple choices not just projectors .. if I remember correctly the 2nd gen acura tl and cl came factory with 4500k hid in a reflector housing with a completely transparent face ... i know for a fact it was acura I just can't remember year or model lol
It just depends on the headlights. I saw an old camry with pnps in housings with fluted lenses before and it actually wasn't bad. And there are factory hid reflectors, but the optics are designed specifically for the wide arc of hids, halogen ones are not. Just for the record too, some old Mercedes had factory hid reflectors with fluted lenses.

Shining up was exactly the intensions . Where as most people will run with head lights and fog lights in dense fog . Mine are wired up so that they are the only forward facing light on in the fog . So yea I have more glare with my fogs but I also don't have low beams shining back in my face .. hands down any day I would prefer to drive the civic at night or in the fog over my 350z which is factory projector hids ... i have had hids in all my cars for the past 9 years . It's been a horrible game of cat and mouse tracking down adjustments... is there federal laws against it .. yes absolutely but when a hid puts out the same amount of glare as a halogen bulb while being pointed in a headlight machine ( which is more precise than the naked eye ) is that really something to complain about ? Is this going to be able to be done with every car out there ? No . But the fact is is it able to be accomplished for those people who would rather be able to see a stranded family on the side of the road with more notice than the average person . I'll take that any day

Lol I knew there were some cars out there I've worked on tons . But I understand the fact of not blinding other drivers which is why I have gone the great lengths that I have . But only 1 in 100 people will go through the head ace of worring about other drivers safety . Which is why your posts are 100% correct . But for the few out there that would go through the same trouble as we have its worth it . So I'm sorry for coming off ignorant but both are valid points just one is easier and more affective . If I would have known this year's ago I'd be a pro at building retrofits .. but I didn't know this then and I have put time into proving it can be done with reflective housings

Not right this second but I can get some asap . When I was haveing problems with one my bulbs I was taking the bulb in and out while they were on. And I noticed the beam changing .. so then I started to tinker around with it . I noticed with bulb pulled out very slightly the beam was all but perfect . So I tore the whole head light out and starting fabbing shims and modifying the factory locking component so that it would still lock .. after days and days of research .I had a duh moment . Universal kits are exactly that . Universal . So the bulb is always the same length .. which is why when you buy a car off the factory floor the lights are so bright then when one blows bulbs from autozone don't seem as bright.. because not every single bulb is exactly the same length . A factory Mopar 9006 could possibly be shorter or longer than a 9006 bulb from autozone . Whether it's an inch or a mm any difference in bulb length will make a difference in the light spread .. but those bulbs that I modified were at the end of there life so I had to precisely measure exactly how much of the after market bulb was actually inside of the headlight housings . So after long discussions with my hid distributor I finally convinced them to find or custom make me a bulb That was correct lengt for my housing .. since then I have been going through the same headache every single time I get a new car but it's worth it for me . But for me to get the bulbs it's double the price . Which is still only $40 . But I've been doing the same thing for years so I've got every ( universal hid bulb size ) so it's just a repeat of the same headache . But in return the kills a majority of the glare and splatter of your typical universal hid kit .. so like I've said . Projectors are a much easier choice I know this from lost of blood sweat and beers
