Today I tired to change glove compartment bulb to LED type but found you need a special small bulb. The one I bought off ebay will not fit. Also it is not clear how to get to the bulb once the housing is removed. Btw, seems the lamp is always own even when the switch for light is turned off.

Getting to point on the cabin filter... with the glove door removed I noticed there is large harness in front of the cabin filter cover. My Durango has only 1500miles on it so no need to replace it but I am wondering when time comes how will it be done. Anyone has similar issue. Seems they routed the harness incorrectly. Does anyone know what is the purpose of the harness?

I did not try, last thing I want is to break one of the side pulling it on less than 2 months new Durango.
Yes this is really shoddy workmanship on the part of Dodge.
Before I do anything I want to know what it is this harness for and where it goes etc. Also since it is a new and under warranty depending upon what is involved I beleive dealership would be the better choice. I do hope the whole bumper does not have to come off to relocate it.
Anyone has a similar harness in their recent Durango? Perhaps they can see one on the edge and this one ended up pushed to the middle of the filter cover.

Good point.... perhaps point it out when you go in for your first oil change and let the dealer know you want it resolved...

As for the bulb, be careful as I made the mistake of buying these bulbs on Amazon only to find out that I needed to insulate 2 of the pads otherwise it shorts out the glovebox circuit.

Yes gave up on changing the bulb to LED type here as it requires a miniature version to fit in the spot not the same type that goes into other locations which I have already changed. Only way I change is if I find a good diy video
See those marks (yellow and white)? That is a QC check. LOL

Take down the glove box and you will see you can move that harness to the proper place.
You will not hurt anything!
That is why I am hoping someone knows where it should be exactly so I can try to maneuver to it. Thx.
Do not see much of an upside doing it myself break something and then responsible for the fix. Right now it is on Dodge to fix it.

I guess I did mention the glovebox bulb in another thread. I even mention the issue with the socket...seems like ages ago. Dam covid, I lost my sense of time. Speaking of which, I don't know why people insist covid was made in a lab in China...if it truly was, it would not have lasted this long.;)

Yeah, it's too bad that the FU-Connect losers weren't the ones to invent Covid as it would have then failed and disappeared long ago.;)

Hi, not trying to high jack this thread but it's the most recent one referring to cabin filter.

I was looking under the hood and saw the exposed A/C cabin filter. I read several comments on this forum and some say it has a cover and others don't... When I activate recirculate on the A/C panel a door closes sealing off the filter. On other cars I have had that don't use a cabin a filter I install a breathable air purifier media to prevent some contaminates and keep crap out of the blower motor, etc. Wife has designated parking at work, and it's under pine trees. The needles and leaves get into every crevasse of the car.

I installed a Honeywell air purifier pre-carbon filter 7"x11" (99% coverage and tucks up under the plastic nicely). I don't know if this well do anything other than keep the pine needles out of the filter.

When the engine is off the door retracts automatically, leaving the cabin filter exposed. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't like an exposed filter (unless its Ram Air!) LOL :)

Door closed engine running A/C set to recirculate. This is how I drive it 100%. (You can see a pine needle on the lower right DAM!)

Exposed filter does seem odd... but from the way I see it.... once the hood is closed, the entire filter area is sealed off and the only way any air to truly get in is from the cowl vent area...
