Alison, are you still monitoring this thread or your PMs? Haven't heard anything from you in a while, but have contacted the service dept at my dealership because my phone intermittent disconnect problem is not fixed. Also, in the past 4 days, the UConnect system has completely shut down and rebooted twice while driving. Definitely need this to be fixed .

Thanks for chiming in Alison. I have seen that this is across the board as the Pacifica forum is talking about the same issue. Any chance you can provide some insight as to when they will actually release the update this contains? I find it hard to believe the end of the year.

You have to admit, it's pretty amusing that they loaded any kind of profile feature when they weren't going to allow you to add one. The entire point of profiles is that you have more than one. First world problems!
 
I just picked my durango up yesterday and it came out of production on December 29th and I'm having the same disconnect failures and someone post their build and mine is exactly the same

As the customer care team, we do not have direct access to the timing of the update and unfortunately cannot speculate at this time.

Alison, are you getting my PMs? Also, understand you can't confirm the timing of the release of the software update. As the customer care team, can you point us to who can? Also, can you please confirm:
Whether or not an update is in the works?
Will it address both the phone disconnection issues and the ability to add profiles?

Thanks, really appreciate your involvement in this area of concern for so many '21 Durango owners.

Mine has been perfect for a month and today now it will not connect to car play wireless or wired. I finally got Bluetooth connected so I can use phone but his is frustrating.

How do I know if there is an update for my vehicle ?

I just spoke to crystal with uconnect customer service. She confirmed that there will be 2 back-to-back updates within the next 2 weeks that will address the connectivity and user profile issues. She assured me that it will be within the next 2 weeks and will be over the air. You may not even notice you get the update until your car installs it in the background and you just find the newly added functions.
 
This is really disappointing . How can mine work perfectly for a month then stop today. I finally got Bluetooth connected so at least I can talk on the phone but I need car play working for map and texts lol. I just checked and there is no update for mine. Also my sons rt which is two weeks older than mine is working fine lol. I hope the update comes soon

I actually like the UConnect interface much better than the Android Auto interface. And the phone seems to disconnect much more when using Android Auto. But my UConnect has also started just completely shutting down and rebooting recently. So definitely anxious for the updates.

@Heat00 Like some others, I have been dealing with spotty connectivity off and on since a week aftrer I took delivery. The dealer was helpful, but IMHO, this is definitely a software problem, not hardware. But I am not a software engineer, so take that for what it is worth. I am excited for the updates. Yesterday I had three rides in the DD where it wouldn't connect at all for over 15 minutes, then as I was heading home from work, I did a UConnect request for start through my phone, and as soon as I got into the DD I was connected. It is very random, and many are frustrated.

@kdogdillon You get the blue star tonight. Thanks for working with Crystal to get some update. We thought an update loaded at the dealer, but I am still running what appears to be the same build as when I took delivery, so it is promising that updates may solve issues. And that they may be sooner than later. Whew!
 
I actually like how the built in nav works, as it shows in the middle of the instrument cluster, the main problem I have it is that finding an address of site takes a lot longer than just opening apple maps and plugging in the destination. sounds stupid but it's just so much quicker and easier not to mention the graphics or look of the apple maps is 100 times better and clearer than the built in nav.

more than the nav, or aside from the nav, is the loss of texts. I work in my car a lot and drive a lot, I don't want to have to pick up the phone to read or see or respond to a text.... with car play working, not only does it show on the center screen who is sending a message, you can have it read to you and reply very easily.... so safety and convenience. I used to think car play wasn't a big deal until I lost it. I also tried the usb c and it doesn't work there either. another feature is now on bluetooth only, it makes no sound if you get a text so I don't even know i'm getting texts as it sits on the charging pad and makes no noise.

sure, these are minor items, but my older chargers and challenger uconnects worked perfectly every time on all 4 cars, granted with a wire plugged in but I would take a wire connection today over wireless not working.
 
Guys, I am a software engineer and here is what I see. This system is brand new. It’s very buggy. It’s going to take some time for the software guys to work out the bugs. I can guarantee you they were pushed to the limits to get this software out and are working as fast as they can to get the bugs squashed. It’s messed up i know but just be patient, the updates will come. No point in going to the dealer. There is nothing you can do but wait. complaining to dodge might make them hire more software guys but it will take them a while to get up to speed on the system so not really helpful. As long as they are working on it we’ll be OK. Give it a few months and if it’s not taken care of by then, well then we have a problem.

So I have no car play for a few months? but all my previous unconnect chargers worked fine. very dissapointing. it should at least work with the wire. Have you done a factory reset yet? Might as well try. PM me if you need help.
 
I just had mine in the dealership two days ago. They confirmed the issues I experienced, tried several resets and ultimately called Chrysler. I was told that they're aware of the issues and I'll just have to wait for the update that's coming out in March.

Issues I noticed and reported to the dealership:
  • No add profile button
  • Buggy performance pages with frequent crashes. Selecting G-Force causes immediate app crash.
  • Random phone disconnect and reconnect.
Then yesterday on startup I got the message "Battery of Uconnect Box is temporarily low. SOS Call and related functions my be unavailable." I pressed OK and I haven't seen it again yet. So IDK what that was about.

I've also had no luck connecting my memory profile to my key fob by following the directions in the manual, but I'm not sure this has anything to do with Uconnect.

I'll just keep waiting on the update...
