The tire pressure light came on yesterday and the display is reading 29-30 psi on all tires. My question is do I need to take it to the dealer since it has Nitrogen in them? I'm assuming any other place would charge to inflate with Nitrogen.
Does that go away? Or will I need to change the sensors?weather has a lot to do with it i go thru this every winter ,first cold snap they start flashing on the lowe side.
Is there a way to just shut the stupid thing off altogether??Does that go away? Or will I need to change the sensors?
Just add pressure and call it done.Does that go away? Or will I need to change the sensors?
But it's not low!!Just add pressure and call it done.

Have you checked the pressure? If it's 10% lower than the setting the light will turn on. Otherwise it's probably a bad sensor. But it's not low!!

Ah!! I haven't checked it!
I've never had any interaction with the TPMS. The 'menu' is blinking 30/31 for the left front, so I assumed that's what it was reading as the pressure and therefore NOT low. But is that telling me what it SHOULD be, not what it actually is?
Guess l better check it and go from there.....

Yes. There's a sensor inside the rim on the valve stem. Glad you got it fixed!Aha! You were right, put in about 5 lbs and it went off. They are quite sensitive I see!
Are those monitors actually incorporated into the valve stems?
I'm so used to tires being at 32 psi, I didn't realize these called for higher. My other 3 were at 33/34, so wouldn't set off the sensor, but when that ONE dropped to 30/31....bingo!Yes. There's a sensor inside the rim on the valve stem. Glad you got it fixed!
