Today I did an oil change and a tire rotation. While the tire were off the truck I washed and sealed the barrels of the rim. The reason for thus is to make it easier to clean all the brake rust and other crud off.

The part of the wheel that's no exposed. Behind the spokes, usually where the wheel balance weights are placed. The area that's a complete pain in the butt to clean.

Can't say I've ever heard that either, thought you were talking about the tailpipes. Learn something new everyday!

Oh, you mean the part that no one sees, or cares about.

With the rims being 20" you see a lot of the barrel through the rim. Cleaning the outside only of the rim while the inside is dirty doesn't do well with me and my OCD. I took a pick, but it's late and I don't think it came out to well.

Im the same way Brian... I like to keep em as clean as I can (living on gravel road is tough)

Developed a slight shake in the steering wheel at about 75mph I noticed the other day.. figured it was time to get tires rebalanced... cleaning the D for this past weekend get away, and had a little build up of dirt/mud on the inside... got all the "crap" cleaned out and no more shake!!

I've had gravel dust buildup alone be bad enough to shake everything out of whack...

Not something I'd want to do frequently but as a couple-a-times-a-year kinda thing, sure.
Yea, my original thought would be spring, mid summer, and then late fall. It doesn't take much more then a blast from the hose to keep them clean.

Did I read that correctly?
75mph on a gravel road?

I gotta get the hell out of the suburbs!

not saying that I haven't gone 75+ on gravel road.. but not in this case...

I live on a gravel road, right off the interstate... dust/dirt tends to build up inside the wheels... I notice the buildup when I get on the interstate, going 75mph

got my Adams daily driver detail kit in the mail today and ordered this brush to do the barrels of the rims, simply amazing!!! No more busted knuckles with the wash mitt, so easy!
