About 15 months ago, my 2016 Durango started making an odd noise somewhere behind the instrument cluster. It happens mainly on hotter days. It's not a rattle, per se, because it doesn't happen when I hit a bump or rough pavement. I'm cruising along on perfectly smooth pavement and it happens: about 2 seconds of a sound like someone rattling marbles in a can. Or maybe like a ratchet wrench going for a couple of spins. Then it disappears, only to sound off again 30 seconds, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, however-many-minutes later. There's no pattern to it and it doesn't appear to be caused by any outside impact or vibration. I'm sure if I take it to the dealership they'll fail to replicate the sound and I'll have wasted a trip. I made an audio recording of it happening. Three times, actually, and I removed all the silence in-between. So it doesn't happen multiple times in a row like in the audio recording. This was over about 2 minutes of recording. Please have a listen and tell me if you have any guesses. It's driving me freaking nuts!!!

I don't know if this is your issue, but I had a rattling noise coming from the instrument cluster. It turned out to be that the thin chrome trim piece around the outside of the instrument cluster was loose. If you tap around the trim piece, you may see where it is loose. At the locations where it was loose, I carefully pried it slightly away from the surface with a mini screw driver and my finger nails enough to wedge some folded pieces of electrical tape between the trim piece and the cluster. This solved my problem.

This particular noise is not the trim, but I do have that instrument cluster trim rattle too (I even made a YouTube video about it). Really annoying and lazy, sloppy design work on the part of Dodge. I imagine the only fix for that is to remove the trim and then glue it back in place - a permanent fix I’ve yet dare try.
