The space, the ride, the quiet, the looks and the technology. And that's only from the 20 minute test drive.

(Okay, the fact that I'm trading in my Caliber for the Durango and getting our '13 Q5 that my wife currently drives does have something to do with it.)

Best thing is it didn't look like a modified minivan like most of the other new crossover/SUVs on the road. Also it felt like a luxury vehicle without a luxury pricetag.
You hit on something. The only (real) other options out there were minivans, which just ain't pretty. I will provide a review on how it compares to our Q5. Audi may not like me afterwards.

Instrument cluster! Back in May I almost bought a 2013 R/T, but that cluster was a big drawback for me. I think it looked dated and the speedo was hard to see between 35-140mph. I found some early info on the '14 & decided to wait. Many other features I really love, but if I have to name one thing, that is it!

Nice write ups, I was debating between the durango and the Audi q7 myself right I'd stay with the American made team @john.g... Yea the tech is great they done an awesome job with it although some minor issues with the radio...

When I was shopping - I brought my wife and daughter to a local dealer to see the D. The sales associate asked that we stand behind while he started it up and pulled it out of the spot so we could get a better look. When that Hemi fired to life it put a HUGE smile on my face and when I glanced at my wife she was also beaming. I knew them...this was the way to go.

This car is packed with features!! One feature I wished it had was auto/power folding mirrors!

My wife and I were going back and forth between the Pathfinder Hybrid and the Durango. After I test drove the Durango and as we headed back to our car, the salesman drove the Durango back to its parking spot. It was already dark by then but when we saw it driving away, we were mesmerized by the glow of the taillights, the LED DRL's, the HID's, the sound of the HEMI, the 20" hyper black wheels all on the white Durango. We knew at that point what we wanted.

Funny - For me it was down to the Durango or the 2014 Pathfinder Platinum in white. I liked the Pathfinder...I said to my wife the D was the "heart" choice and the Pathfinder was the "head" choice. Obviously I went with my heart and so happy I did!! I think if I had purchased the PF I would be drooling and regretful every time I saw an R/T on the road!!

That is funny, exactly right. I liked the Pathfinder too and the MPG was really making the decision difficult but I knew if I got the Hybrid, I would be regretting not getting the R/T despite the MPG. Besides, what modding can you do on a Pathfinder Hybrid?

Not much! Great car but boring! The other thing that scared me away was all the bad press on the CVT tranny!!

Well from the short period time I had mine in my possession I was thrilled with the vehicle. While still at the dealer I pulled it around and was backing it into a spot. A young teenage kid with his parents almost snapped his neck to turn and look at it.

I came back out to leave and a salesman was backing a car in and he was looking at it pretty hard. Thought he was pissed about where I parked it. Turns out he was just admiring it and then tried to sell it to me and asked if I needed him to take me over to a finance person. I said thanks but its mine, I just paid for it.

Hopefully, I have her back in couple days and get to start enjoying my vehicle.
