Looking for XL tires that are wider than my 265's on my stock 20" black-top pkg rims. Any one know if 285's would fit? I do believe that 275's do fit...but would like the widest tire that will properly fit without clearance issues. Need more traction when pulling boat in and out of water.

Stock tire is 10.9" wide according to Tire Rack.com. I'm looking at General Grabber UHP in a 285/50/20 and a 295/45/20. Both are 11.7" wide according to Tire Size.com. The 285 is 31.6" tall and the 295 is 30.5" tall. From what I can feel and see, the wheel wells can Handel about a tire that is 2" wider. I'm looking now at finding a tire store that will allow me to order 3 tired of different sizes to see what fits and what hits.

The General Grabber UHP in a 285/50/20 sounds like a good choice. I will check out your links below. Please update me with any progress on trying different sizes...the wider, the better, so long as the wheel wells will take it :)

I have a complete set of winter rims and tires, so I figure why not go with a full summer tire. My first thought was to go with Nitto 420s as they are a 3 season tire, but I kinda like the tread patten of the General tire better. If I can find a tire shop that will order those, I will take pics of them off the Durango and on to see!! The Nitto's don't come in the 295/45/20, they only come in a 285/50 https://tiresize.com/tires/Nitto/NT420S-285-50R20.htm

These are 32" tall, which is going to be too big. But the have a deeper tread depth which makes them appealing!

Those were in the line up, but my son (9yrs old) liked the tread pattern of the Nitto and General tires better! Lol

What size are you thinking? That link just goes to discount tire. Those Michelin's are good tires!

What about Installing Airbags in the rear coils? That might apply more pressure to the rear wheels when pulling the boat out of the water on an incline hill. Do you have a factory Tow package or did you add a hitch yourself.

I have a tow package from the factory. That means I have load leveling suspension in the rear. I am really thinking LT tires would firm things up in the rear.
