Here's a thread that I see on a lot of car forums that is pretty fun to look through.

So, what did you do today? It can be anything from a fresh wash to ordering new parts!

Well we all have 3 pieces of OEM "chip shields" on our Durango's rear door /rocker area/ wheel well molding. After 30k of 9" wheels and winter driving the rockers and wheel well mouldings were beat up. After a paint touch up the next thing was to replace the factory "chip shields" Call to dealer has them at $30.00 each. I also knew they were all a bit small and just an extra 1/2" would make all the difference. A few years ago i bough a few rolls of extra InvisbleMask brand clear protection tape.

I had saved the chip shields i removed from the durnago and traced out my own and they look great. Now I'm making templates for the areas on the wheel wells were Dodge didn't have them but i know mine sure does.

Grainy but u can see how bad it was.

Installed my Mopar CAI earlier. Ran out of daylight and patience as it was 112 today and still toasty when I was doing the install. Still need to adjust the engine cover and get that bad boy back on there.

You sound like my wife. No Carlisle home-brew for you!

lol.. I found another thread, but there was discussion of them rubbing or not fitting, so I was hoping for an additional how-to so I could see if he's having that issue...

Is it even worth it if I do them in black? Is doing them in red going to stand out way too much? The D is already white, and black, and chrome... is another color like red or blue going to muck it up? Anyone do the black ones?

I think slainte06 has them in black, and someone else here has them in carbon fiber. You can always order them in red from autoanything, test fit in the driveway on one side to see if you like the look. If not, just send them back. They have a pretty good return policy

The more red the better.

Pedals are done and the brake sucked!!!! Quit after 20 minutes and then used the tape method and took 5 minutes. Fingers hurt though.

Got my SRT8 reps (20x10 +45 offset) and Parada tires (295/45/20) mounted and balanced finally! Put my winter Iceguards (on the OEM wheels) on a shelf. I'll wash it tomorrow and post pics.

I used duct tape after heating the pedal to hold the top tab up. Basically taping the rubber on the top of the pedal up and then after the pedal was on simply pull the tape off. I should have taken pics.

D was starting to pull a little right.. steering wheel bounce a little... so I took her to the Dealer.. (who I actually like. They have a huge garage, and a huge dealership, and it's really well staffed and a brand new building..).. I live like 8 minutes away.

Went for an alignment, a tire rotation, and since I get free oil changes, had that done as well.

2 and a half hours later they bring me my D and I head home.. And it rides as smooth as silk.. and the steering wheel is as steady as can be.... and it no longer pulls to the right... now it pulls to the left. Wah-wahhhhh...

Back to the dealer, skip the line (theyre like 12 deep in 3 lanes to get in... Book an appointment, people!), back on the lift.. 45 mins later, drive home.

So actually, I got an oil change, a tire rotation, and two four-wheel alignments.

And that's what I did to my Durango today.

Tomorrow, wash and wax. Is it possible to over way your car?

The. End.

Newbie here - just bought a used 14 Durango AWD Limited w/ 11k miles - Love it so far. Ordering running boards and OEM slush mats today. Question, this model does not have a CD player - is that something I can add on? My local dealer said "I can't find it in the parts catalog so I don't think so..." Obviously not a sure-fire answer as to whether I can get one or not. (I don't know how to post a new thread to pose this question in, so if anyone wants to help me with that, please feel free to chime in!) Thanks!!

I thought I was gonna be lost without a CD player... now im glad I dont have it. What a pain. All those discs laying around... all that space used up on the dash or console... Just buy a portable and plug it in headphone out to dash in if you really think you need it.. . Or put yer music on a flash drive..

I drove mine to the airport and parked it while I went out of town on business last week. Haven't driven it in a while. Ah, it's so smooth and has power to spare. I forget about that when it's parked for long intervals. I know, that's not any kind of work or mod, but at least the old boy got a little workout in. Makes me look forward to when it's finally time to mod and refresh it. I'm just missing one important thing before I start. I can't remember what it's called... oh yeah, now I remember. Time. I have no time right now.

I'll keep an eye peeled for you and your D.

Fyi.. If you ever have interest in a little DIY car stuff, check out Garage Yourself.com (no I don't work there.. I just thought it was cool)
