MJB8,

Will these front caliper pins work? The rears I ordered on Amazon (the only NAPA's that had them in stock was one in Chicago and one in NJ) are the exact same rears on your NAPA link, but the front kit is a different part number. From reading your post above about the GM having the same front and rear caliper pin kits, I found this thread about doing Brembo's on the Chevy SS:

Brembo (6-piston & 4-piston) Parts List: Upgrade SS 2014 & 15 w/(2009+ CTSV/ZL1) - Chevy SS Forum

So I used the AC Delco part number for the front caliper pin kit and that is a different part number than you have on the NAPA link. The front kit I ordered is this one:

Amazon.com: ACDelco 18K2108X Professional Front Disc Brake Caliper Hardware Kit: Automotive

I paid the extra $13 shipping to have everything here on Monday. If this front caliper pin kit won't work, please let me know so that I can order the correct one on Amazon. Thanks!

Changed my tune, literally! Thanks Johan! Also, went for oil change @ Jiffy Lube (bringing my own Mobil 1 and K&N oil filter) and they couldn't get the oil plug out. They were afraid to apply too much oomph using breaker bar (said the pan was flexing), so I will take it back to the last shop that changed the oil and make them do it. I also ordered a Fumoto Valve from Amazon so I can start changing it myself. I used to do it before I hurt my neck, back and shoulder. I think the Fumoto Valve is just what the doctor ordered!
UPDATE: I read many variations on how to remove a stuck oil drain plug on this forum. After trying everything at home I ended up taking it to the shop that previously changed the oil. They tried one of those pound on extractors and a breaker bar to no avail. Finally, for more elbow room, they got smart and removed protective plastic cover under the engine. Then senior mechanic used vise grips and slowly turned the drain plug. Installed my Fumoto F106N (Amazon) oil drain valve, put 7 quarts Mobil 1 5W/20 (Costco) and Mopar oil filter (Walmart) I brought with me. Charged me $30.95 and I got a free hand car wash.

NOTE: DO NOT HEAT UP YOUR OIL PAN TO TRY TO EXTRACT STRIPPED OR ROUNDED OIL DRAIN PLUG. PAN IS PLASTIC AND WILL MELT. (Yeah, now you tell me. SMDH)

Installed my Volant CAI today. Pretty simple install, took approximately 30 minutes. Happy with the results. Don't know if it really freed up any ponies, but it sounds pretty wicked when you stand on it!

Give us your impression on the brembos vs the oem brakes
Initial impressions are good. There was a shudder and fade with the OEM brakes when coming to an aggressive stop from around 60 mph. The shudder is gone, and should be since I replaced everything. There doesn't seem to be much difference from stock when braking under normal conditions after the upgrade. The bedding in process gave me a good feel though. These were aggressive application from between 55-60 mph to 15 mph. I spent about 15-20 minutes or so bedding them. Tires barked under these conditions and never had any fade. I didn't have any aggressive braking in the rain last night so under those conditions I can't say.

To give some background, my wife initially complained about the stock brakes. We had two cars at the time so I thought it was just the way she drove. I only drove the D when we were going on longish trips or to town together. I didn't really have any issues with them until I really needed them and they didn't respond the way I thought they should even on dry pavement. About a week ago it was windy and raining sideways. I was in a position where I was going to have a head on collision with a neighbor. We live on a backroad much of which is little wider than the D. Applying the brakes in those conditions was like not having brakes at all. They just didn't respond. I think the disks were wet and I didn't feel the ABS kick on or anything. I was off the side of the road and luckily he was as well. In that circumstance I don't even think the Brembos would have done much better but I can't confirm nor do I want to try.

This didn't drive the decision for the upgrade it just confirmed my initial thoughts. Also my wife seems happy.

nam what wheels u have? size and who did they come from pls?

Just installed the Fastman 85MM Throttle body then went out and did a few 0-60's I have a new personal best and its with the 89 Hemifever tune. Absolute full tank of gas and about 150 lbs of tools in the back. I backed it up with 6.37 and 6.40. Its been a while since I did it and I use the same exact deserted road to keep it consistent. 1/4 tank and no tools and the 93 Hemifever tune. I may have break the 5's.

To be honest I don't know the brand. I actually bought them for an old car and they hyper blinked. So I took them out and tossed them in my tool box. I can take a pic and it to you if you like.
That's alright. I appreciate it though.

Dark chrome SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee reps 20x9 Hollander 9113 from Stock Wheel Solutions. The stock tires will fit rims 7.5 to 9.5. Not sure how it is in the US but I expect shipping would be easier. I would call them first to verify but they will contact you as well if there is a problem. The Stock Wheel Solutions website quoted the wrong amount for USPS shipping and I found myself out of pocket an addition $288.

Shipping was a big issue for me getting the parts over here. If I had to do it again I would have sourced the parts that I could locally or been a little more selective who I ordered things from.

Nam, just nice to know they clear the Brembos's many of the 20x9 say they will not.
