Here's a thread that I see on a lot of car forums that is pretty fun to look through.

So, what did you do today? It can be anything from a fresh wash to ordering new parts!

Installed a new battery today!

I haven't bought a battery for a vehicle in over 5 years and was shocked at pricing. Ended up costing me around $115 with a 25% discount WTF! A couple of years ago the same battery would've probably been around $70. It's not an AGM battery which was closer to $200.

Anyway the DuRonbo Durango starts easily and runs smoothly now!

I remember buying a red top for cheaper back in 2006 than the last entry level dura last battery I got for our Tahoe. Damn batteries are getting stupid expensive.

Finally got to wash the backroad winter dirt off of 'Altered Carbon".

Had the tails tinted, but left the reverse lights clear. Installed matte black hash stripes as well.

Gave it a bath, but didn't take pictures of how clean she looks LOL! Instead I took pictures of what the engine bay looks like after this past winter and not cleaning it. So for those wondering about the new 18' hoods and engine cleanliness here you go! I live in Michigan, and have had plenty of snow and rain since I bought it in October of last year. Also it has seen plenty of touchless car washes. I cleaned it up once, shortly before winter, and this is what it looked like after about 4 months of nasty weather, and car washes:

Took some "before" pictures, of what it looks like now, before I put a Ceramic coating on her.

This color is really glossy already, so I'm not sure what to expect. I've heard the Ceramic will add even more depth and gloss, so we will see.

I'll update and post identical views after it is finished. Might be a week or two though.

Ceramic is really not meant to add much of anything to the paint. Most retailers will do paint correction prior to ceramic so that makes it look a lot more deep.

Ceramic is meant for paint protection and being able to wash things off more easily.

The Durango looks great by the way.

Not sure what he went with, but I did 20%, and it is almost an exact match to the factory tinted windows. Prices can vary a bit depending on the tint and installer, mine was $40 per window.

Nope. I ran 20% on my 14' DD when I had it till I got this one, and never had problems there either. I had 20% installed on my Charger all the way around, and same story there. Had 5% all the way around on my 08' Charger and never got pulled over in that either. I have had window tint for on almost every vehicle I've owned. The really only mess with you on it if it is limo tint which is normally 10% or lower. Even then if you not speeding or something, they usually leave you alone.
Thats good to know. I have been always a little skeptical about adding front tints. Maybe i should try it out.

I am pretty sensitive to bright light so this pays for itself in my book. That and it just improves the appearance of a vehicle IMO.

Just ask the tint shop, if you don't already know, what the laws for your state are. I know here it is suppose to be 35%, and tinted only on the top 4" on the front windows. The back and rear can be whatever % you want. Doesn't stop me or anyone else I see driving around from doing the whole window in the front.

Like I said in the last reply, they haven't messed with me the way it is now. Now if I was at a traffic stop, they might give me a fix-it-ticket to remove it. I would comply, show it had been done, and then get it redone as soon as I could. Been several years since I had to do that. And I give them no reason to stop me now either.

It all depends on the area for how much cops will mess with you for illegal tint. When I lived in IL they had a hardon for getting people with tint. Here in Indiana it seems like they don’t care. Just feel out the area if your in a small town where they have nothing better to do you might have issues. If you live in a big city you prob won’t have issues unless you drive like a jackass.

Changed the oil. Then washed, clayed, did a paint correction and ceramic seal. View attachment 94722
Nice! What ceramic did you use, and did you run into any issues? I just got my CQuartz UK in the mail today. Now I'm waiting on a couple of other ordered supplies and I'll be on here showing my work off too.
