What did you do to your Durango today?

Here's a thread that I see on a lot of car forums that is pretty fun to look through.

So, what did you do today? It can be anything from a fresh wash to ordering new parts!

I had no luck with black lug nuts. I bought the colored lug nut covers. They are worth the money.

I've got some black spline ones that have held up great. Ive been taking them off a lot lately.

Decided to get a little more meat for the street lol Since I'm RWD only now (unless I spend another $1200 on the 3.70 front diff) Hoping this will help some when I start data logging with my new upcoming mods. Already incredibly easy to break traction on the 295s.

Have a newly designed 5000+ Circle D converter coming I have to test and log before I do the stroker, so Jay Greene can design the stroker cam around the around the flash.

They're about a half an inch smaller in diameter than the 295/40r20s and almost 2 inches smaller than stock size. Fit very well on the 20x10s. Be running them around 25psi or lower. The fronts are still 295/40r20 upped to 40psi.

Not at the moment:

This setup will gets me better 60ft and ETs at the track:

The T Case is still on there until a new transmission is needed. Would only need the 3.70 front diff, everything else is used between platforms. But hard to justify the cost and time when my best times will be at the track now. So I'm probably not gonna go back the AWD.

Ok so you are RWD now and going AWD?

I know AWD will give you the best traction but my experience with AWD is the front pumpkin & axles are the weak points depending on how much power is distributed…

I Have several friends with high HP; Syclones, GTR, EVO and STI and all sooner than later throw an axle or grenade a center section.

No I was AWD now RWD. I switched the rear diff to the SRT 3.70. it's an expensive but very effective performance mod. Especially if you were swapping from the 3.09. I'm saying, to go back to AWD now I would need to dish out another $1200 for the 3.70 front diff. I can't justify that cost for just street times, as I'm really after the timeslip.
Ok I get it now brother. Sorry for all the questions… still learning about the DDs.

No problem.
This particular DD has raised plenty of questions. If it didn't, then Im not doing enough lol

I suspect that’s where I’ll end up. Trying to get the guys who swap my wheels to set proper torque on their impact wrenches might help…..

Nice, where from and are they easy to get on and off?

Did you happen to have the spare tire kit with the 19? If so can you tell me where the salvage yard is?
Air guns are not used for final torque. Torque sticks or an actual torque wrench is what your suppose to use.
Ya, the guys at the shop are like we spin to 125 with the guns and torque by hand to 130, all good! Great cept spose to be 110 and you’re obviously rattling the guns on endlessly from the look of those lugs. Had a good discussion with the manager todave, we’ll see how they do at next wheel exchange or ill have to squeeze the wheels in the garage somewhere and do it myself…..
Some cars are more sensitive than others to torque specs…

Several years ago the Honda Accord’s would warp the front rotors when impact guns were used on the rims.

I personally like a torque wrench. Sometime those shops put them on so tight that if you get a flat you need a breaker bar to get them off.

Oh and the lugs get chewed up because shops use “flip sockets”. They can be metric or standard but most don’t fit perfectly and damaged the outer cover of the lugs.

Colorlugs / Amazon. Yea they come with a tool to slide them off. Every time I get maintenance done with tire rotation I remove them before hand. So I can get in and out. That type of easy.

I use an impact at the lowest setting just to get them on and somewhat tight quick. But always use my torque wrench to finish them off.

It went to a Copart here in SC. I think Gaffney.

Added some more Carbon Fiber.... well, 'fake' Carbon Fiber accents... We'll see how long they last. At least I have the comfort with whatever I'm putting on I can 'peel' off...

Found some leftover Reflect-a-Gold in my toolbox. Shockingly effective at dropping IAT’s. I was sitting at 20F over ambient at cruise before, and now it’s ~14F over ambient at cruise (same ambient temps and route). Also 3D scanned the intake so I can 3D print a diverter to replace the OE intake “snorkel” and direct air into the airbox area.
