Wrapped up my 6.4 engine cover install. Tried to make it as OE looking as I could, so I removed the plastic wiring tray and wrapped the harness.

Nice! I got rid of that tray after the last cam install. Always hated it. Had to take it off to move the wire bundles out of the way to get the head in on the passenger side anyways.

It was honestly a much bigger pain than I expected. Now that the tray is gone I’ll probably relocate my catch can to the head and clean that up a little bit.

New personal best at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. 12.335 @ 110mph. 3067DA! Plenty of potential. Still gotta get the slicks grip dialed in a bit.

Took my valve cover off diagnosing a rough idle and mis-fire for cyl 5. Found the intake rocker arm left the party and was taking a nap...

You don't see that very often. How high are you revving that thing?

6700-6800
It has 85,000 miles on it. I've been pretty hard on it for 50,000 miles, much harder on it for the last 15,000, with two different cams.

Interesting. If you have a pic of the break, I’d be interested in seeing that side of either piece.

Better pic. It was actually cracked first then finally broke off. I can see at the top when I'm holding it together where the metal was smashing itself at the top of the crack. If I hold the cracked pieces together flush there's a very small gap at the top.

It was running a bit rough earlier in the test n tune. Acting funny. AFR was ok so I ran it. On the way home it coded cyl 5 miss fire. Made it home and the next morning I started diagnosing it, wouldn't run for long at all.

That helps a lot, actually. The little gap you noticed is definitely consistent with that kind of failure.
It almost seems like that valve may have floated and the high impulse contact is what caused the initial fracture. Did you ever run a high lift cam with too-light valve springs? I guess it doesn’t really matter at this point, but I’m curious.

No, never have. I've put it through a lot. If anyone is gonna find where a setup might fail, it'll be me lol. Probably won't do much racing til I do a rocker arm upgrade at least.

Rockers and valve springs. Might just want to have the head done too to port match and smooth out the passages.

Already done. Those are Manton valve springs. Have a ported 6.4 RAM intake manifold on there now.
