It was all resolved by the dealer. Well, mostly. They did not replace the caliper damaged. It doesn't affect function. I completely would have stuck on this except my wife was at the shooting in the CT nursing home from the news last Friday. I ran to pick her up once all clear but she stayed until 6pm to get work done for all residents. The dealership had called me to say they had replaced the missing bolt - yup, the giant bolt was never bolted in more than three threads by my guess. I just wanted her to feel safe and comfortable so I left my Ram there and brought the RT home for her.

She LOVES it. Even, and especially, the beefy factory exhaust and the fact she doesn't need to use her foot on the pedal to get anywhere. Light touch and the truck is on the move with firm intent.

Trying to keep her happy and I definitely think this truck helps!

 

At 100,750 miles, I finally changed out the spark plugs, (Iridium IX) and coils (Blue Streek) on my 16RT. The dealer made it sound like it was a hard job, but then again that is how they wanted to justify $1,200 for the cost of replacement.

I was prepared for a long fight with the D, but with a standard 3/8 socket set, and it took under 2 hours. Not a single cuss word was said. The parts cost $301 from Rock Auto. My only regret was that I didn't get the Ruthenium HX plugs, which only cost a small bit more. So, I get to do most of this all over again in the next 2 years, as the IX are 40-50K plugs.

Long story short, the plug replacement on a 16 RT (16 plugs) for this left-handed fella wasn't hard at all. Best of all, I saved I about 900 bucks.

 

I thought all they needed at 100k was a new set of rockers and springs

Anyone else have crack in their projector glass? I noticed this after the warranty expired so the dealer wouldn't do anything. I think they said $1600 per headlight

There is no condensation in the housing at all, so i can't believe it was from hot glass and a cold drip of water. I've never removed the headlights or adjusted them in any way

It hasn't really affected the usable light at night, but I'm worried the glass will eventually separate within the mount and fall out or something like that

 

It was probably hit by a rock. It's polycarbonate, not glass, and the entire light has to be replaced. Sorry.

It could have been just about anything so you may or may not have a mark from it.

 

Finally grinded off a little rust from scratches down to bare metal. Love this thing again only 17k more miles of warranty coverage left then some changes…

Put a new headlight bulb in the drivers side. I swear, I'm cutting the halo light wiring out of this car so the next bulb replacement is easier.

🤔 It makes really a large difference at the fuel pump, if your average speed is 75 MPH or 110 MPH.

 

I had a wreck on 12/25 (yes, Christmas Day Night) wherein I rear-ended a Dodge RAM at a stoplight. It happened at five mph. Neither car had airbags deployed, and nobody was injured.. But the Durango. Ouch. It's about $ 7500 later, and it's all good. Nearly all parts comprising the core support had to be replaced, as did almost everything related to the front bumper except the fog lights. The hood and the passenger-side fender also needed replacement. Luckily, the intercooler was undamaged as was the radiator and a/c components. I took this opportunity to upgrade the hood to the newer Hellcat hood with the vents. We did replace front bumper bits with the 2014 components. Not only do I like the look, but I didn't want to jeopardize the intercooler's spot in there behind the grille. Also those newer fog lamps are quite costly and Im a fan of the 3000K fog lamps I have in it now which also survived. Finally, I had my old infernographix RT hockey sticks applied. I had a new set of them in a box for 7 years. Figured with the fresh paint, now was as good a time as ever.

DD has 16k so to the dealer for LOF and then the tire shop for rotation and balancing. Stock tires have 8/32 of tread wear so projecting a little over 30k from the stock perrelli’s. Everything so far so good…

 

Purchased a set of new original MOPAR front wiper blades, hecho e Mexico - unfortunately for more than the double price than 1 1/2 year ago (40,00 € each instead 17,25 €)

 

Got a Thule Motion L a few weeks ago for road trips so my boxer/tiny horse can lounge in the back without being crowded by cargo and I put a Billet Tech catch can on a few days ago.

Oh, Gawd, I hate tint. And I'm in AZ. Back windows are fine but I want to SEE AT NIGHT.

I agree. Being in S. FL tints are a must! My DD had dealer installed tints. They match the rest of the windows perfectly.

 

I agree as well - even in Chicago I needed the tint bad, my eyes are sensitive to light. I matched the rest of the windows as well and got the 5% eyebrow and no issues at night...

 

Despite it's illegal here in Germany to have tints on front and front side windows, aftersales market tints have a worst reputation and are outdated, too.

In the 90ies that stuff was popular for cheaply pimped boy racer clunkers and had the nickname "Fickfolie" (f*ck foil)
