What did you do to your Durango today?

Here's a thread that I see on a lot of car forums that is pretty fun to look through.

So, what did you do today? It can be anything from a fresh wash to ordering new parts!

What would I do with a heavy spare anyway? Call AAA. I’m not changing a tire on the road.

Can't tell from the pictures is the Black a metallic black or just solid black?
DB which IMO is barely metallic. What could it cost to dump more gold flake in that damn paint.

Talking to my friend that owns a body shop he says that the DB black has some of the most flake of any car out there per the mixing guide... you might want to look again with a good light on it... there's alot of metallic.

Thanks. I will do that because it will be in my hands Monday and the sun is forecast to be out without clouds. Looking forward to it.

It was about 9 outside late yesterday. We have not driven it 50 miles. It was dusty but I have not got it dirty yet because we don’t NEED to use it everyday. It was a good chance to at least get a touch less spray off at the nearby wash and get it back here and take a good look at the paint job after it warmed back up.

It is the DB. I will say it has a good paint job. Looks darn nice clean. Looks probably better than either one of my Challengers for depth of color and thickness of the clear coat. The paint does contain lots of metallic and it is cool looking. I am real happy with what I see for overall paint quality.

I will need to get a buffer out today (have a very heated large garage with massive LED lights) and touch up where some ignorant fool used either an inappropriate rag or something to wipe the hood in a few places. Matter of fact, I don’t doubt they just spit on it and wiped it with a hand or glove to view the paint. Probably was the same mutant retarded ignorant fool who drove it 96 mph that was available in the top speed record within the screen performance registers. Oh yes, they have that info very clearly in my “feedback” given to Dodge for everyone to read.

NO, Mr. remote dealer it was not a perfect paint job free of any swirls or scratches. You need to visit your eye doctor immediately! They won’t need to think about delivering another vehicle for me again.

Overall, love the vehicle, I think it is going to be a keeper.

Anyone else notice their fuel door is more brown than black like the remainder of the vehicle. Under a good light it is not even close. May even qualify as a warranty request IMO. ;)

Pictures?
This is BS. I will claim for either a replacement or reimbursement to pay MY CHOICE of a bodyshop.

Yep, seems strikingly different... Could be the picture but isn't it the same general color of the plastic wheel lip as well?
No, nothing else is basically brown. Nothing comes in brown. I’m not screwing with them either. One chance to replace it. Then I’m taking it to a real painter, and asking for cash. Ex-custom bike/award winner here. I have a painter that can solve this zhit quick.

What kind of trailer park spray bomb deal is this? I had no idea the fuel door was painted off the body??
It is just so strange. @DodgeCares ??

Well it is going in for my first oil change to a local dealer in a week or so. Their service department treat me like family. I am sure we will be ordering a new piece. I’ll report back WTF this thing is.

Tried the launch control on the new ‘23. It has 1005 miles so it is time. About 32 degrees outside. Mild throttle, it seemed pretty easy to do a 4.2 second 0-60. I like the big girl. Told the dudes over at the Hellcat Forum to watch out. Slippery tires and a nervous right foot and those things will be embarrassed to the next stoplight.

Last night drove from Denver to Dillon in about 1.25 hours. Pretty much traveled the speed limit, the Durango pulled itself up the hill and around the corners of I-70 with ease.

Here it sits at about 9700’ enjoying a rest.
