With just 2600 miles on the clock I was able to get my Mopar Edition Durango to the premier detail place here in my hometown. They did a decontamination, paint correction, polish, and then installed self healing PPF with a coating of Modesto Ceramic coating.

I was expecting it to look good, but damn my jaw hit the floor. Who knew family Truckster could look flat out sexy. Looks to nice to drive anymore LOL!

VERY NICE! That is one good looking DD! Love the color combo with the matching calipers and emblems. What splash guards are you running on that? I also LOVE the MOPAR grill emblem…a nice touch. It’s also nice to see the offset stripe instead of the dual center stripes that we’re so used to seeing.

PPF and Ceramic is definitely worth it so far. The Detail place said for the next two weeks keep it dry and just blow it off when you get home from being in the weather. I was on back roads, in Salt and snow, and spitting rain. I thought for sure I would have to rinse or wash it. All I did was blow it off in the garage, and I will be damned, it almost as looks as good as when I do a full wash on normal paint. Did not even have to touch it.

Dave,
You said the splash guards are ZL1 Add ons....do you know if they're the "standard" ones or the "deluxe" or "premium " ones? I have been really debating on the splash guards...but yours look great.

Sweet! Can I ask you how much the detailer charged for everything they did? It looks like they missed NOTHING.
And I'm trying to find a detailer close to home that I can trust to send my SXT to after it's 75Km PM visit within the next month, or so.

I went to a well known shop, Detail Peoria. In Peoria, IL. They included a maintenence kit (3 bottles of various cleaners and microfiber). They suggested the stipe be covered separately to avoid any issues with air under the film. With paint decontamination and polish, film, and ceramic it was around the 5k mark.

Not something I can normally swing, but I had a couple projects I just got rid of and some other things hit that gave me some extra funds. So far feel like it was worth it.

I wanted to get the stealth ppf, and I thought about it pretty hard, but at 11k, I just could not justify it at the time, but knowing what I know now, it probably would of been worth it. Though at 11k you can get alot of paint work done.

For 11 grand you can paint the whole thing. That is stupid pricing.

If you are going to keep your vehicle, and you believe in optimal original paint protection, and you want piece of mind then paying up for the film is justifiable. The film takes the heat, the high touch sections will look crappy after a year, so when you can't stand the pitted hazy look, your installer cuts out the bad and releases the good with another section..

I agree, you can get alot of paint work. But will that paint shed debris and water and look clean all the time, and be super easy to wash?
Does sound insane... But, to each their own.... I had a '03 & '13 that sat out on the drive for 99% of their lives, Chicago area Summers & Winters, never had an issue with the paint or had a problem washing them. So just based on my personal experience, I would find it useless, but that's me.

I hear ya, this is my first ppf, ceramic car. I always was of the opinion I could keep up the maintenance. The difference is it will never look like this after driving through snow, salt, and backroads.
