When I ordered my hellcat Durango I was very interested in that inviolet color. But the dealership could not show me any images of any hellcat let alone one in that color so I went the safe route and went black.

Since that time of course there’s been several photos on this forum of the inviolate color and I think it looks spectacular!

It boggles the mind how much money and work went into our muscle cars in high school to never get this performance. But it was fun for sure to try.

did some baseline runs just to see what she’s capable of before I get my downpipe in tune. Not too bad at all. Kind of humid so I’m sure it could be better.

 

Funny story, I called my guy at the dealership and he says “I’ve been getting phone calls all over the country since you put my name out on the forum about the Hellcat Durango’s” and I’m like really, because no ones said anything here lol. So looks like someone in here is swooping in to pick them up and wants to get it locked before saying anything lol! Whomever you are I’ll tell you as far as dealerships go you’ll be all right with them. No stupid games. They are locally owned and great ppl right. I’ve never had an issue with the 15 or so vehicles I’ve gotten there. Happy hunting hope it works out. They only have the 2 allocations left luckily there’s a lot of red-nex here who love hellcats so their a high volume dealer.

 

I've had mine since then as well, got it in 1978. I dated my starter wife in it, my daughter got to be scared in it, but my good wife hasn't had the pleasure. I've been "restoring it" since 1995. It currently has a pistol grip and Magnum 500s from my friend's '70 but I need to put the original shifter back in and find wheels for the original hub caps. I did get an Air Grabber for it from a guy many years ago so that's going to go in it as well. Lot's of great memories and lots of work to do. $$$$$$$$

Oh hell. I am back in. Ordered a pizza yesterday for pickup, and a DDHC for delivery today.

Well. I had my eye on since the day the rumor leaked- that it was being built. Worked hard to be aware of when the ordering banks for open and to find a dealer that would sell me one MSRP. It was more bad luck but I didn’t get the one I ordered than anything else and since I found one where the dealer was willing to work with me on MSRP I pull the trigger.

 

so now you have 2 very quick SUV...nothing wrong with that.

So I end up getting a vehicle at MSRP, that apparently was someone else’s sold order, but only because I found a dealership that was reasonable, and it was approaching months end. At a time when the dealerships are struggling due to lack of any inventory- they were very motivated- but also professional. I got lucky

but this DDHC is everything we all hoped it would be. I haven’t had much drive time yet, but it is amazing.

True. It kills me lol.
The DDHC throttle response is spectacular!
The SQ8 still has turbo lag a bit -soon to be gone when the catless downpipes ( which are here!) are installed.

 

That is exactly what I have as far as packages and options. I am adding Downpipes and an aggressive tune.

Then I will get some good videos of the two beasts running next to each other

I wonder what your SQ8 runs in the 1/4 mile, that thing is fast. Do you have a Dragy?

 

It ran 11.9 stock on Dragy. Then it ran 11.7 withe stage one tune. Then it ran 11.69 when I added Downpipes. Then this morning it ran 11.5 with stage 2 tune- but power cut before the 1/4 mile was complete. The tuner forgot to eliminate speed limiter(130 MPH but it starts cutting power significantly at 118).
The MPH and 0-60 also improved with each stage/upgrade. I will post dragy in a minute.
