The guy at the dealer told me with the Durango one of the great features Is that you can remote start and unlock and lock your car with the free app. I registered the free trial with unconnect but after that you have to pay monthly. Is there another free app that dodge has? Or was the guy simply BSing me?

The app is free. It's the UConnect subscription that you must pay for.

So he told the truth from a certain point of view. I don't think it's worth the monthly asking price. It's like 15 bucks a month. I had ti for the first year and it's cool but I didn't find value in it. I felt as much as these trucks cost, that app should have been included.

Keep an eye out for Uconnect running a special. Last Spring, I renewed both of our Dodges at $75 (each) for 12 months.

That's still $6.25 a month. Maybe that is way more worth it. If I had to price it and had to collect I would charge $4.99 a month and run a special less then that. If they charged that amount I think then I would go back to it.

FCA is nuts with how much they charge for the Uconnect service.

My wife's new Ascent has a similar service to allow her access through an app, and it costs $79 for three years. It was cheaper to do that 2 times than have a physical remote start option installed.
