Turn signal out message but it's not out

I've searched though and can't find a thread that matches my issue. We have a 2014 that is giving us the left turn signal out msg but it's not really out. This assembly doesn't take bulbs, it's an entire LED assembly that has to be replaced. I even bought a brand new assembly and swapped it out. The message went away for about 30 sec but then popped right back up and went back to fast flash. I disconnected the battery for a while and it did the same thing. Worked fine on first start, slow internal flash, then signal out error message after about 30 sec instead of immediately on startup and back to fast flashing.

Is it an aftermarket assembly? I had that same message on my durango a few months ago and dreaded the thought of replacing an entire assembly, thinking it was all LED lights. Come to find out it was just a regular halogen bulb for the turn signal. Any pics of the housing?

It's an OEM, I can grab some pics but it's a sealed unit. I originally stopped at parts store to get a bulb and the computer said "No user serviceable parts" when he looked it up. What year is yours? A lot of searching tells me it looks like 14's are kind of a 1 off when it comes to this assembly. I see a lot of people with later models replacing bulbs when they get this msg. Also I did go to the stealership and ask about it and they told me the same thing, quoted $500+ to replace it and part was 2 weeks back ordered.

I had a similar problem with rear LED turn signal bulbs . Then I switched off the lamp check with AlfaOBD and the problem was gone.
My new LED headlight bulbs also didn't work at first. With the YouTube video I found a solution. Good luck.

Lamp check deaktivate.:

CBC Config I/O Usage:

__

Front Driver Door Ajar Switch Signal Usage (Lamp Diagnostics): Disabled

Door Ajar Switch Signal Rear Left Usage (Lamp Diagnostics): Disabled

I've had the rear assembly out multiple times and replaced it. The connector looks find and is dry. I've read codes and there's none to clear, pulled the battery. At this point it looks like could be bad ground but where to begin there, not going to tear in to the wiring harness. It disappears in to tubing going in to the rear quarter panel at the rear plug. In the end it's the computer that individually tell each bulb how to behave, they aren't all wired together or the mirror signal indicator wouldn't be able to flash fast with the indicator and the corners slow at the same time. Hopefully someone will have an ah ha moment down the road and find this thread. Until then I have bigger issues to deal with like putting a new fuel tank and pump in my 16 year old's "new to him" 91 F150. Maybe I'll get alpha loaded up down the road and just turn off the warning like Banan suggested.

I know what you mean about prioritizing workload. Have a 2yr old “torpedo” and newborn at home. How old is your battery? Just shooting in the dark here. Weird stuff happens with “less than desirable” voltage. You mentioned your rig being a ‘14

have you ever found a fix to your turn signal issue on your 14, we have a 2019 GT and we’re having a similar issue except our message is only coming on when the headlights are on and we hit the brakes. Same message but only when headlights are on after dark. Everything works fine when headlights are off, front signal blink normal, side indicator blinks fast and rear passenger turn signal stays lit up with absolutely no blinking whatsoever. We have changed the whole assembly (since it’s LED) and doesn’t help. Was wondering if you have found what is causing the issue with your Durango or if anyone else has any Osaka’s on what is causing the problem. We’ve only had it for less than 6 months and only has 49k miles on it. Any help is appreciated.

I just recently bought a 2017 Durango RT and have the same message rear right turn signal out. I’ve replaced the entire rear light assembly and it’s still happening. Also based on suggestions I’ve replaced the front right blinker as well. It also had no signs of corrosion or issues. Has anyone found the fix for this?

I am just chiming in with one more attempt at making sure the connector is clean and no corroded. Use DeOxit or another electrical terminal cleaner (one that leaves no residue) and spray the connector and let the cleaner well up in the connector for a minute. Then spray a new shot of DeOxit in it and plug it in and unplug it a couple of times then give a final shot of DeOxit (or your favorite electrical contact cleaner) and assemble the unit and test. It's worth the 5 bucks for an electrical cleaner to give it a try.
I would then say you have done everything possible short of replacing the controller or wiring and if it still fails, do the AlfaOBD trick..

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram thats doing the same thing and it has the stock LED tailights ...The taillight out message comes on and then every once in a while it will go away and then come back on ...I think i might have narrowed it down to the headlight LED conversion that the previous owner had done before i bought the truck .Came across this thread doing some research on it ..Supposedly theres a way to turn it off with a certain OBD2 set up

The connectors can get hot and discolored when the contacts on the bulb don't make good contact. You should pull the bulb and slightly pull the wire contacts out just a tad so they make better contact in the socket. If any wires on the old bulb are burned a bit then you know which one is not tight enough.

It looks like a bad socket but I don't believe Mopar sells it. Search the forum for someone who has somehow replaced them because it has been done before.
