Hi. My name is Jeremy. I'm new to this forum thing and I have resorted to it because I'm facing a $4400 transmission repair shop bill. I'm on my second Dodge Durango now. I love this vehicle. It has conquered the weather in this state of Colorado. I put 360000miles on my first one, and it threw the driveshaft. Its done. I found another one in PB7, leather, fully loaded, big motor. I drove it for a few weeks and discovered my radiator was bad, and mixing coolant with my trans fluid. i flushed it and put a new radiator in it. The trans level stayed constant, and was no longer foamy. I drove it for three months...... and lost second gear. Its been sitting for 4 months. I was ready to pull the trans, and take it in to be rebuilt. I got under there and realized I'm not 25 anymore. Does anyone have any explanation as to why I can put it right into gear, bumps nicely. I can do a burnout, hits second and winds out. Is this common? could it be a shift solenoid? anything????? Please advise.
