Tracking order shipment

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone one knows a way to track the actual shipment of my Durango? I had it factory ordered back in April and I was told by my dealer that it was shipped on 5/2... But now I'm getting different information every time I speak to someone.

-Dealer told me it was shipped on 5/2 and should take 10-15 days to arrive.
-Called Dodge on 5/4, they said estimated delivery is today (5/22)
-Called Dodge on 5/20 they said they are still estimated for 5/22 delivery
-Called Dodge again today, they said as of 5/19 it was waiting to be shipped

It almost seems as if they are making up something new every time I reach out. They have me the rail car number and I'm just trying to see if there is anyways to actually track this.

Thanks!

So the dealership looked up my order this morning to see that my D was released from the plant. (Does that mean it has left the plant, or just that they moved it from one room to another?) We also noticed that Dodge had gone back and back dated all of the information. What a crock of sh$%$. When I called Dodge, they gave me an estimated delivery date of June 25th. What are your thoughts? Do you think it will be here next Wednesday, or do you think I should just drive to Ohio and buy one sight on scene?

That probably means that it has passed final inspection and it's waiting for shipment. If it's going on a railcar, I'd say it's unlikely... But if they put it on a truck it might make it.

On Monday, my dealership said it would be here any day now. When I called Dodge, they said the 25th with no guarantee. What is so hard about this. Don't they have the transport scheduled out? At this point they should be able to tell me the exact day and time my D will arrive at the dealership. Like someone said previously, don't tell me what I want to hear, tell me the truth.

I just spoke again to my dealership. They now said words to the effect it is being finalized. What that means. Well I was told that means it is the final stages it was being built. Last week I was told it was 'on the ramp' and I may get it in 7 to 10 days. Why the change in status? I asked for a printout to be sent to me by email. Given the track record of my dealership I would say it is a safe bet that I will have to ask for it another 2 to 3 times before I receive that.

Well, 13 weeks and still waiting. Jeep Garage shows my D sitting in a railyard in NJ since 6/17 with delivery 6/23. No response from the dealership after calling yesterday and today. I'll have to try again tomorrow. Does the dealership have to go pick up the truck or does chrysler organize this? I have a $5k deposit down with them, I think I want it back...

Did you give them a check??? Did they cash it yet??? If not, cancel it and go elsewhere. Your dealership is just being lazy. I am not sure who organizes the truck for pick up from the rail yard, but I am sure your dealership could figure it out. On the other hand, it could arrive at your dealership any day now. God, now I sound like a salesman.

It has been my experience that even through the vehicle arrives at the rail yard it won't be loaded on to a truck and delivered unless there are enough vehicles to fill the truck. I believe there is a process where the dealership can escallate the delivery but it probably costs them to do so.

I feel your pain. Mine was stuck in Final Inspection for a month waiting for the MOPAR accessories to be installed. Now it has been sitting in shipment status for 10 days waiting to get on a train. I was originally told delivery first week of June, then mid-June and now sometime in July but no actual dates. It is very difficult to get any hard information from Dodge or the dealer. I don't think they like to get too specific because there are too many variables involved.

If it is only an Hr or so away in a railyard they should go get it

Don't call them, you need to go down in person and ask to speak with the manager. Be certain this is what you want to do and don't let them talk you down from it, be firm and just straight up tell them you want to cancel. (BTW before you put down the deposit did they tell you there would be a cancellation fee? Did you sign any paper work with said fee on it? You might have to pay that) But if you cancel it, you'll get the majority of you money back...they don't have any legal way to keep the deposit.

Mine arrived in Seattle on May 15th, but took quite a while to get on a truck... it didn't get to the dealer until June 5th.

It's Chrysler Corp that organizes the shipping. Considering the price everyone pays for the destination/delivery fee, you'd think they could expedite it a bit.

After mine had been sitting in a rail yard for 2 weeks, I called Dodge USA myself and they said they'd try to expedite it. I think that might have saved it from another train ride... when it showed up, Milous and my dealer were both still seeing a later estimated delivery.

With a build date of 4/01/14, yours probably needed the new CV boots, as well as the add-on black chrome group. I can see why they wouldn't want to deliver a faulty product, but I think they handled that very poorly.

I know how you feel, but if it shows up soon, I'd probably still take it. It's a great ride... what's the alternative?

Mine was a Canadian Order, but Dodge Canada was clueless.

It was still stuck in USA, so I called there:
Dodge - Contact Us
800-423-6343

They'll need the last 8 digits from your VIN... ie. EC######

Good news, I finally got through to someone at the dealership and they assigned me a sales person. He said he called the railyard and yelled at them etc. etc. Needless to say, it's on a truck to the dealership today, hoping they put the mopar black chrome on tomorrow for an evening pick up. Excited!

The Mopar appearance group's MSRP is $795 and includes Mopar tubular side steps, chrome gas and break pedals and front and rear Mopar door guards.

I hope so, according to JeepGarage it was finally delivered! ("Vehicle Delivered to Dealer 06/25/2014 11:23 AM CDT").

I'm new to dodge so forgive my ignorance. I ordered a Durango 5 weeks ago and I'm seeing a few vehicles with vins later than mine at dealerships. I'm EC58#### and I'm seeing EC59####. Does anyone have any insight? When I check via dodge chat the vehicle is in build stage (same response for three weeks).

Good luck! I ordered mine from the dealer on 4/29 and the dealer placed the order on 5/8. My VIN starts with ec55 and it is still at an offsite supplier getting the features installed. It has been at that status for 7 days. Dodge and the dealership can't tell me when it will ship. In the beginning the dealer told me it would ship on 6/5.

It is very dependent upon the options you order, etc. One wrong accessory can add weeks to the build time. If Dodge discovers a part that is defective, etc. they may hold the vehicle to be fixed before shipping to the dealer, etc. Mine was ordered on 4/25 and wasn't built until a month later. Then it sat for another month to have an accessory installed. When that was done it then sat for another 12 or 13 days waiting to ship. It now finally today shows up on the dealer's website so it has either finally shipped or is about to ship. I'm not sure when they show up on the site, but I figure I should be taking delivery in another couple of weeks so for me the entire process will be 11 weeks if it doesn't get delayed again.
