This is very interesting because I have a 01 4.7 SLT that just starting idling rough and has lost power at 265900 miles. I replaced the plugs with Champion coppers and it had power that it did not before. That lasted for 20 minutes and won't even spin over the tires now and idles rough again. Getting error codes for #1 cylinder. P0201 and P0301 to be exact. Anyway to find out if the 4.7 is affected without having to buy a new computer first? I have a suspicion the dealer will be less than helpful.

Thanks Don. I bought the SLT from a co-worker a few years ago and really like the truck. I replaced the battery at the first of the year and it sits around 12.45v at rest. The plugs hadn't been replaced in a long time and were shot, honestly I'm surprised it ran because they looked so bad. I'm going to start digging into the issue more today and saw this thread, which describes my issue perfectly. I just don't want to be chasing my tail on something I can't fix because a computer is doing something it shouldn't.
