A bit of an auspicious start....went to pick it up yesterday.....I refused delivery because the rear hatch would not latch automatically. It would close but not latch.

So they fixed it....I picked it up this afternoon......all was working properly so I accepted delivery, and it all checked out fine. Got home after taking it for a ride.....and it's not latching again. @#$%!

Everything else checked out OK. I was a little irked that I requested, several times, that they not install the front license plate holder, and they assured me they would not. Of course I get there and it's....installed. Not a huge deal because I was going to install it anyway, but AFTER I had Xpel put on the bumper. So now we'll have to remove it before the Xpel-install....

I did not get a full paper owners manual? All I got was the "essential" pamphlet, the Quick reference guide, and other BS. I downloaded the user manual, and I found the "owners information" screens on the "Apps" screen of UConnect....but it seems that I should also have a thick, glossy printed owners manual with all the information in it. Printing the downloaded manual seems ridiculous.

Did the dealer or FCA omit something? I asked them and they said this is all I should get.......

Ok...some pics (Suburban is sadly being sold). Some have said that I am boring and predictable when it comes to car colors. I have no idea what they are talking about.

Living so close to the equator, I can drive nothing but white vehicles. I get 'ragged-on' about my color choices too. ;)
Love that silver. Bought a new '79 Mustang that color, but it didn't hold up well (and neither did Ford's paint back in 1979).

Congrats on your new Durango. I have that Billet Silver on my '14 Charger R/T. You should be able to email FCA customer care, and have them send you a proper owners manual. This is what I did with the Charger.
You will be surprised at how thick it is.........

Yeah I saw that the .pdf indicated like 600 pages.....even with that micro thin paper that they use, no way will it fit in that little hidden space above the glove compartment.....

paperless is the sign of the times....keep a kindle in the glove-box;)....best of luck with it...btw I once left my rear hatch open over night and it would not close with auto function...you had to close it manually then it worked.
So now the questions/issues are going to start to pile up. So I tried to access the user guide today in UConnect (it worked yesterday). I get an error message that a problem occurred and I should try again later. Same with the "Assist" icon. Shutting down the car and restarting did not work (tried that several times throughout the day. Most other functions seem fine. Is there an easy reboot here, or is this another issue that I need the dealer for?

occasionally my performance pages fail to load....but I retry by hitting the icon and it catches the second time..just have to be persistent ..sometimes the perf page widget icon fails to show the but I press the spot where it should be anyway and they come up..

The Charger has a nice pocket on the upper left where the manual fits perfectly. I know the Durango Gen 1 and 2 glove compartments are not what I would call spacious by the time you get the owners portfolio in there.

I have had black cars, blue cars, red cars, brown cars, green cars......for me, silver and white are good at hiding imperfections, they tend not to show dirt and fingerprints, they stay cool(er) in the summer, and are generally easy color matches for body work (white is better than silver in that regard, but not by much for a skilled painter; getting metallics to lay down right requires a little more skill than pure opaques). Many people are surprised to hear that white doesn't show dirt as much as darker colors, but it's true.

They are also easy cars to sell. Very few people hate white or silver; they might not love it, but most will not hate it.

The downside it that neither of them (white or silver) really pops when it is cleaned and detailed. IMO nothing looks sharper than a straight polished, glazed, black car. For at least 3 minutes until the dust and fingerprints get started...or until it gets the first door ding.

Of course color choice is purely subjective, and everyone should buy what pleases them. the above comments are IMO only......

Amen. It's pine pollen season here. My white car has a nice flat yellow tint right now. ;)

TGBraley said, "when I got my 15 SXT+ it came with a manual on DVD in the glove box"

My 2015 Limited had the DVD too. Problem is that it requires an older non-supported version of Adobe Reader. Fortunately, the DVD contains the old Adobe Reader, but if one has the latest, to access the DVD, you have to uninstall the current version & install the old one. I believe the manual exists on-line, but for ease, I just keep the old Adobe version installed. Anyone care to comment.

Dealer confirmed no manual, FCA Customer Care confirmed no manual, and are sending me one (2-4 weeks). I got the red nylon pouch, it had a thin "essentials" manual and the little warranty manuals and legal disclaimers. Nothing in the slot above the glove box. Perhaps some smart/savvy dealers are ordering a bunch and providing them on their own? Seems ridiculous that on a car with so many damn features and menus that that the factory would not provide a manual.........but as someone stated earlier....they are saving money wherever they can....
