Back to the days of killing myself with a black auto. Told the kids mommy was bringing them home a surprise, they guessed Candy lol. But happy wife , happy life.

curious to hear how you like it. Most likely in the market for one of them as well, as much as it pains me to admit

We had a 2011 and loved it, but then she got giddy as kids were a year older and wanted a sequoia. Then recently we decided it really is not functional for soccer, beach etc and car payments were shite too. The 15 interior is far superior than the 11 was not much else has changed except bells and whistles and leather etc.

Haha, it is very convenient. My kids loved opening and closing the doors. If I had to be honest with myself, it is way more convenient and practical than the D. Especially in packed parking lots.

I have a lowly V6 D so the performance isn't that much different from the Sienna. The ride is night and day, however. The D rides like a dream, I found the Sienna to drive a bit like a drunken elephant.

Can't say enough about our Ody. For the stage we are in with our kids, no other vehicle comes close to what it can do.

We had a 2006 LE before we got the Durango and we liked it. It was convenient and comfortable when we'd make some pretty long drives: +1000 miles one way, a couple times each year. We had looked at buying a new one before we decided on the Durango but we both wanted something with more power (although the Sienna wasn't completely awful for what it was) and we needed to tow.

As far as minivans go, I think the Sienna should be given an exception for man card holders; with a few provisions:

--The minivan CANNOT be the holder's primary vehicle.
--The holder's primary vehicle MUST be a Man Card™ approved mode of transportation.
--The holder MUST be married and/or have sufficient dependents that would necessitate the purchase of a minivan.
--The holder's request for exception MUST be approved by a majority of fellow card holders in any social circle the holder finds himself.
WARNING: Any mod found in/on the minivan that would warrant revocation in Man Card approved vehicles will also result in immediate and permanent revocation of the minivan's "approved" status. The revocation may not be appealed, even after the offending mod has been removed. Such mods include: stick figure family decals, soccer/basketball/baseball/hockey/or any other "sports mom" decals, honor roll bumper stickers, etc. Cheerios, french fries, and other small snack foods under the seats and in every possible crevice of the vehicle are acceptable so long as they are cleaned out at the holder's earliest reasonable convenience.

Haha nice provisions listed. Yeah my boys love daddy's D but are excited now for mommy too as its a cool looking minivan. Even the 11 year old wanted me to take him in it this morning to school. Yeah eh not so much son, daddy will drive it only when necessary [emoji2]

Minivans, while still having such an unfortunate moniker, have really emerged from that feminine image. That's due in large part to the fact that SUV's have really taken over the fashionable role of soccer mom mobile over the last decade or so. They're just too useful to be removed from the landscape, and too many dudes use them for hauling and other manly things to cause man card point reduction.

...debadged, you name it. Pretty funny actually.
Easy to wax without badges than with :D

Here's a question though, can it tow? I like the idea of being able to haul a ton of stuff inside it, but can it pull a 1200lb dry (2995lb GVW) 6.5'x12' utility trailer? My wife was trying to get me to look at vans, but I refused!!! Seriously though, if we have another kid, I'm thinking we'll replace the cars (and keep Durango as you've done) with one, especially if it can pull a trailer now and then.

I would have like to have modded the Ody but wifey won't allow it. The only thing she has allowed me to do is put a radar detector in it (which has saved her more times than I can count) and not even hard-wired at that. :(

We had a 2008 Town and Country and a 2010 Town and Country. I'll be honest, i really miss them. So much more room than the Durango. Better mileage than the Durango. And I feel that the van drove better in the winter than the Durango. But the wife wanted to get out of her van and back into an SUV. So, we got a 2012 Durango, and just got a 2015 Durango.

Finny - you've inspired my wife, b/c I showed her your pic and told her that "see, people can be happy in a minivan". Going to test drive one today.

I am not a fan of mini vans. I think that's been clear, but my wife drives a Mazda MPV that's pretty beat now and really wants a new sienna. When we met, she drove an Isuzu Rodeo with mud tires and there's something sexy about a chick that likes to go offroad. After seeing yours, i'll stop giving her a hard time if that's what she wants. It's actually not that bad looking at all. I guess, I keep hoping she'll go back to something cool
