I've got a big trip coming up. 600 miles round trip. 99% of which will be on the highway. Over 150 miles will be on "Alligator Alley". For those who are unfamiliar this is a 78 mile stretch of straight flat road that cuts East/West through South Florida from Weston to Naples, most of which is through the Everglades. I was wondering if anyone has found an optimal cruising speed for the best MPH. I usually do between 70-85 mph. on this trip. I'll have plenty of opportunity to find out for myself. I was just wondering what others have found to work well.
On a related note, I just passed 1000 miles on the odometer. Haven't done an oil change yet. The instrument cluster says 92% life left. I'm considering getting an oil change before I go. What would you recommend?
