So when I start the vehicle, sometimes it sounds normal cranking before the engineer turns over. Other times it hardly cranks then starts and it just seems out of sync. Runs fine, just seems out of whack when starts. Not your typical (vroom, vroom, purrrrrr). It’s like vroom, vrrr, purr). Don’t know how else to explain it.

start cycle is going to be different if the engine is hot or cold. If cold engine is going to idle higher to start before dropping to set idle speed, if engine is warm it will start and settle right away to set idle speed.
Is that what you are talking about?

Not idle speed. It’s the cranking immediately after I press the start button. Sometimes it has a normal sound Rhythm to it other times that rhythm is very short and odd sounding.

Can you take a video of this?

Replaced the “primary fuel pump”. Apparently there is another one. They are trying that if FCA gives the approval.

They use a saddle tank, there’s a hump in the middle of the take to clear the drive shaft and exhaust. Passenger side fuel pump is a transfer pump, driver side fuel pump is the primary pump that feeds the engine.

Well....field rep is blaming bad gasoline. Dealer doesn’t buy that but says their hands are tied. Meanwhile I drove it for a month while it was acting up from many different gas stations. Always using 93 octane. I call BS!

Dealer is going to fill the tank and see what happens. I’ll update once I know more.
