Just noticed I have moisture around the base of one of the hoses going over the intake manifold. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance. View attachment 114327
The “hose” going over the top of the intake manifold is the crossover fuel line connecting the right and left fuel rails together.

Yes I’d be a little concerned!

I thought it connects the fuel rails. I was in a rush and didn’t try to research this at all. Maybe this explains my awful MPG lately. Thankfully I have a Maxcare warranty. Thanks! I’ll report back with what the dealer says.

If you don't find any fuel smell along with the dampness there, possibly the PCV valve right above it has leaked a bit of oil down onto the fuel rail. Since you have the MaxCare, I agree having the dealer take a look is a good idea.

Nice...I think you're on to something. The oil trail starts right under the PCV hose.

I haven’t taken it to the dealer. After you mentioned the PCV line, I noticed my oil catch can does have oil seeping out of the connector from that PCV line. I had a catch can from the same company in my Charger and never had this issue. The fuel smell may be from remote starting it and letting it sit for a minute, that’s the only time I notice it.

I’m going to take my catch can apart and see if it’s clogged or something. Not sure how it would cause an entire hose to be coated in oil enough to seep down to that fuel rail though.

The hose doesn’t look like it has any holes or cracks. The valve seems ok but I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for there. Billet Tech is sending out new hoses for the catch can. They did say I may have had my hose too long. Mine looked pretty similar to all of the other pics I’ve seen but mine did hang down a little lower so I’ll cut the new one shorter. Thanks for all the replies!

What you are experiencing is oil from the PCV system. Wipe clean and go about your day.

The PCV hoses don't have to be compromised for this condition to occur. I have had to wipe mine down occasionally, and not only on this vehicle. Happened on my Trailblazer SS before this as well. Seems to happen more over the winter months for whatever reason.

Side note: mine will develop more outside the hoses when my catch can is filled up for certain. At almost every connection too. Makes sense.....catch can full......it tries to push oil through everything to eventually get to the cylinder where the factory deemed it ok to burn it off through the original design (of which we all hate and therefore install catch cans).
