My 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee has had an issue with the gad pedal. Give it gas and take your foot off the car still accelerates for 1/2 to 1 second. Pretty freaky sometimes. Dealer told me the gas pedal needs to be replaced as the mechanism is sticking. Took 2 weeks to get the pedal in so I drop it off today. Go to pick it up and.. Oh no codes before the new pedal but after the new pedal codes. No signal return from the pedal. Supposedly they tested stuff and said................ Your PCM is the problem.

I have 30 percent confidence in their troubleshooting But in any case they give me a loaner. A Subaru with 1600 miles on it.
Well I jump in then jump out and go back to the service desk. I asked the service write/advisor/know it all if she really expects me to drive in a vehicle full of filth? Well I happen to say it in front of other customers so they all lost their minds, OMG sorry for that, it was supposed to have been cleaned and prepped for the next person. yadda yadda yadda. The call the lot woman over and then next thing I knew the lot woman was giving shit to the service writer about her (the writer) not turning the car in the day before so it could be cleaned and how dare she (lot woman) get blamed for it. What a shit show.

So I get the cleaned car but let me tell you. Not sure the model but it was loaded with leather, all kinds of electronics etc. But what piece of low quality vehicle. The ride is terrible, and the engine seriously is a moped engine, has to be. 0-60 12 seconds LOL

My guess is the JGC will be at the dealer for a month because the PCM is on back order and not expected to ship until 2 weeks from now

I do not have any more money to get rid of Stellantis products but as soon as I do. See Ya unless there is substantial turn around. I doubt it cause Stellantis can't get the charger to work and stopped making them due to the tarrifs. Durango is the only Dodge vehicle left and this is the last year maybe next year. Knowing Stellantis, they will extend the Durango as is until 2030. BET THAT!

@ViceWhite I like that you've changed your avatar to the last Dodge vehicle you wish you never got rid of.

You've a right to be pissed but this sounds like a local dealer problem not really a Stellantis problem. Well, yes it's a stellantis problem since the dealer is licensed by Stellantis...but the bad troubleshooting, the rental issues, and the unprofessional behavior are all dealer issues.

Stellantis does have a host of issues to deal with......primarily that nobody is buying their stuff anymore.....and some questionable dealers don't help their reputation.....

As for Subaru...they are great cars but some of their base engines are really weak. We had an outback with the base 2.5L engine.....definitely one of the slowest cars I have owned, but it was efficient, reliable, and trouble-free.........

I go back and forth on if Dodge is a good car.

Off the (build) line other than the new uConnect (hey Dodge call me I do software and can show you how to do things correctly) I think Dodge is a really nice car. I do my own maintenence since Dodge bought out my Max Care. But, you can tell that overall dodge at least on the Durango is going after high levels of durability. Unfortunately from a mechanics perspective Dodge needs to spend more time making things easy to fix. An example of this is why isn't there fuel pump access from inside the car? It's just lazy that you force people to pull their driveshaft and fuel tank if something goes wrong with the fuel pump.

Little things like this are frustrating + shouldn't be happening. I wish that I could sit in with your development team and kick them every time they ignore functionality and replaceability.

I think they are great cars but dealers do not know how to fix them properly.

I am done getting into arguments with the dealer cause their techs are stupid because god forbid you question them, it is like all hell breaks loose and you get talked down to.

I wonder if the tech put the original pedal back on to see if the code stayed. FWIW I think it is a PCM/ECM or whatever Jeep calls it today is the problem and needs a firmware update, if there is one. Did the tech check? Sucks that I know longer can get access to dealer connect through a friend to look this stuff up.

They tell me they will call me tomorrow to give an update. I WILL bet they do not so an email to the GM will happen but not sure what that will actually do besides piss off the techs and service advisors. They might then spill milk in my carpet.

Here's another thing I just ran into.

If you're going to force people to press in bushings instead of making things an easy bolt in / bolt out configuration.

At a minimum give mechanics a flat area on the control arm or wherever a little wider than the bushing to press a bushing into a cup. It's ridiculous and completely obvious that you're going after parts replacement over refurbishment.

These are the little things that Toyota addresses but Dodge ignores.

Typical stuff with dealers. The PCM/ECM is not in the local warehouse so they ordered it from some other Mopar Deport in the US.
MY luck, the part is in Alaska and as usual it will be UPS ground 5 days+

The service writer (I will not call them advisors) is so lame. She act like you are wasting her time. She acts like you are someone she never talked to even though you checked in with her 4 hours earlier. Sadly one of the best customer advocates in the dealer is gone. What is left are annoyed service writers who have no issue with picking a fight with customers.

I watch these service writer idiots suck up to the hipster Service manager so I guess they feel empowered to tell an owner of an $80k Ram, "Let me say it one more time because are not listening, "I need your license, insurance and credit card otherwise you will not get a loaner." The poor Ram owner was simply asking why the insurance card was needed as he usually would pay the 15 bucks for added insurance. The service write says, " We have never done that" The owner says "last year You did". The service writer says, get this..." We have a more productive team and this is what is required."

The owner (and myself) just looked like WTF are you talking about. The old timer said forget it just give me a ride home. The service writer says, sure. The shuttle leaves in 45 minutes. :cautious:

This type of service being allowed by mother Mopar is insane. And yes, Mopar allows it as these are not antonymous franchise owners which Mopar likes to say. Dealers are regulated by all kinds of Mopar policies including a code of ethics. If Mopar wanted to they could easily straighten up dealers and if dealers don't get in line, fire them as a franchisee. Mopar did it back in 2009 (for different reasons) and because they are acting like their dealers are excellent when they are not, customers get shafted day in and day out.

Poor management is reflected in employee actions. Also good employees tend to leave when there's bad management. It's a cycle that keeps getting worse over time.

You should try walking into a Toyota service and parts center. Just walk around a little. Everything wrong with Dodge dealer service centers will be clear.

And I'm saying this as someone that likes modern Mopar cars. Dodge dealer service centers are just bad.

My dealer has a Subaru store as well. I have been in that store and it is a different world in the repair shop.

I am still waiting for the PCM module to get in (supposedly today) and am laying odds 3 to 1 that it did not work. I am laying 20-1 odds I have to call the dealer to get an update like have have every other day since dropping it off. that is even when the service turd say I will get a call tomorrow with an update. It never happens.

I got a call saying my Jeep is ready. New PCM, new pedal module, test driven, no more throttle disengage latency is what I am told. I am picking it up tomorrow 1st thing when they open.
I asked the service writer, can you lot crew wash my Jeep, you have had it a week and I am sure it is dirty. She says, oh they work for they (lot people) sales department. We stopped providing car washes in Service. The sad thing is, I have been going there since 2015 and never ever once asked for a wash. They used to advertise it but they never did it but I never asked. The one Freaking time I asked, they say, eat shit and die cause it ain't happening. While that is some seriously harsh paraphrasing of what she said, that is how customers truly feel when we get confronted, belittled, ignored or given poor customer service by your dealer network @DodgeCares

Keeping my fingers crossed there are no dents, dings, scratches, interior smudged with crap then I will do an under hood check, under dash check and finally test drive the Jeep. I'll report back.

Talk about stress. I am dreading picking my Jeep up. I hope all is well. Sorry for being such a whiner but if you think about it, you know that tech fried my PCM. I feel there is a cover up and I am enlisting the dragnet guys to get to the bottom of this. :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

The work order tells the whole story.
replace pedal module.
codes set, module not functioning
check wiring under the hood OK
check wiring under dash - found two burnt wires, stripped, soldered and insulate.
check pedal module - still signal error
replace PCM

Truck runs fine, pedal does not act like it used to, acts normal.

Like I thought, without a doubt that tech fried my wiring and the PCM driver for that circuit.

There was an article last week that Stellantis is screwed since one of their main parts suppliers is going into bankruptcy. Even thought the supplier says they are still in business, the writing on the wall says Stellantis will be even worse off (actually customers) with part availability.

2 month wait for a PCM is about as stupid as stupid does.

#22 ·
Stellantis should buy the supplier out of bankruptcy.

Ive heard about PCM design and supply issues for over 10 years. Why does Dodge allow this to happen? Also if you're not going to address supply chain issues why not buy from someone else that can provide the parts even if they're reman?
