Hey everybody, hope you're all doing well.

I changed the oil yesterday on the 02 D (4.7L), everything went great. Then on to the plugs - while working around #8, I snapped the tiny coffee-straw-sized vacuum hose right near it (see pictures). I did this in my un-heated garage, it was about -10*F, so it was pretty brittle. I was hoping you could help me find the right part # for it - I may have found it, just wanted to run it by you all before I go and buy anything. Will driving it for a few days like this cause any issues? I put some electrical tape over the open ends for the time being.

Judging from these diagrams, it looks as if the hose in question (runs from the cowl area vacuum lines to the vehicle speed sensor) should be this part #:

05015846AA

HARNESS, Speed Control Vacuum 4.7L V8

Any info/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Cristo

If I was going to do that, I'd have to replace the entire length, because it pretty much crumbles if you bend it at all. Must just be super old and brittle - anyway, you think just a regular piece of rubber hose/fuel line will do the trick? I'm kinda inclined to just buy the stock part, since it's got a 90-degree fitting on one end, and they're both fitted ends - kinda looks like a headphone jack.
