Search the threads, there is a lot of information re this problem. Assuming you have a 5.7 & the build date is right there is a service bulletin out that should fix the problem. Requires an oil pan change and PCM update. A few people have had it done & they say it works. :)

This is another Dodge mystery. Front axles loosing clamps, clunky rear shocks, TPMS, all damage controlled issues but it looks like third party supplier problems. Now the smoking engine. It seems to vary considerably from no oil consumption ( mine is just getting ready for it's 10,000 km service & the oil level has dropped maybe 1/32 of an inch on the dipstick) to pumping liters of oil through the engine and a lot of smoke. The catch cans solved a few of the minor ones, the new oil pan helped others and some of the severe cases nothing has helped. I can't really believe Dodge doesn't know what the problem is, it's not a safety issue and it's more like an economic problem. If it was a design issue we should all have the problem so you have think somebody got it wrong on a series batch production of engine blocks ( crank shaft etc. ) with varying out of tolerance issues ( like the above three problems) and some people have to suffer. I really, really enjoy my Durango but I'm not sure I could take a smoke screen every morning like some report. :(
