I am 2014 owner since 18 months now. Whenever I'm in mood and push the accelerator little hard I got weired smell in cabin, it sound like burning rubber which ruin all the mood.

Anyone with the advice to get rid of this?

The smell of burning rubber (tire smoke specifically) always puts me the mood, but I think what you're smelling is the normal exhaust (catalytic converter) processing a larger than normal driving amount of sulfur naturally present in gasoline. I notice this too, but only when the windows are down.

Gents:
If you do some searching, there is a thread or 3 here about a number of '14/ '15/ '16 Durangos with a hot or burning odor in the cabin, usually during "spirited" driving. I believe the remedy ended up being to remove or adjust a section of sound deadening insulation on the engine side of the firewall near the HVAC piping.

To me the smell is coming while windows are up.

Transmission fluid needs replacement as couple of gears are little jerky and when I get the diff oil inspected,it was found blackish.
I'm thinking to get it replaced in few weeks.

I saw several other threads on smell issue now and will ask the dealer in next visit, hopefully the remedy is not expensive.

Luckily my 2004 Durango SLT has the Mighty 4.7L pre HO 200 hp killer engine. No Stank with that bad boi!

I can sympathize with newer owners that paid big bucks for a vehicle that have a "Stinker"!

In the engine compartment? The smell I get (with windows down) is definitely from the tail pipe.

"The Hard Acceleration Stank!" 🤣 Twenty years or so of forum dwelling I've read about THAS many times, its not exclusive to the DD.

It's just the exhaust catching up to you under hard acceleration.

in my case the exhaust manifold bolts were broken. this resulted in some exhaust gas leak under hard acceleration. apparently broken manifold bolts is a known issue. fixed under manufacturers extended warranty.

Mine does it too. My kids always ask me what that smell is.

Son: "What's that smell dad?"
Dad: "That's the smell of speed, son."
Son: "Go faster, I want to smell it again!"

Hang out behind all of the tiny cars of today when they try to speed up fast......smells the same way except it's behind them.
