This is a video of my 2016 Durango RT with the mid muffler also known as suitcase muffler deleted with 2.5 inch stainless pipe in place.

Audio Could be better it was somewhat muffled by me placing my phone on ground.

zero drone. It is louder at initial start up then quiets down at idle to near stock. When driving the exhaust is louder than stock but not obnoxious. While cruising on the highway or around town it is near stock quiet on the inside with zero drone. Once you put your foot into it it sounds like a Hemi muscle car and you can hear it for sure.

Sounds good, I did the opposite and removed the resonators and left the mid muffler, you can tell the mid isn't doing a whole lot of muffling, resonator deletes are way louder than that.

I did not Rango. I originally bought a dual in/out flowmaster super 10. The shop called and said clearance would be an issue and they could put in on however it would hang low and inches from the gorund. I asked about an x pipe and they where out of stock so I told them to just straight pipe it figuring worst case scenario is I can add mufflers/x pipe.

Is there a X-pipe kit available or does it have to be a custom install at an exhaust shop?

Also, is there a power increase with the mid-muffler delete?

I just had this mod performed today at a local exhaust shop. I am happy to report there is no discernable additional drone in the interior and the Durango sounds a bit more throaty at idle outside the vehicle. It also sounds more aggressive on acceleration.

Here is a pic of the install (sorry, for some reason this site rotates the picture 180 degrees):

Just ordered a pair of Dynomax 24250 mini race bullet mufflers. Replacing the stock muffler with these along with keeping the stock resonators is a popular mod among the Hemi Charger/Challenger guys. Supposedly it has the same benefit of the suitcase delete in that it's louder without introducing any drone, but it smooths the sound and removes the rasp quite a bit. Hopefully I'll have these installed next week.

Curious to see how that sounds, I've been thinking of doing a mid muffler delete with an X and maybe 2 small resonators, only problem is my rear resonators are already gone. The cruising RPMs are so low with the 8 speed trans that I'm not too worried about drone.

I love the sound of my D with the mid-muffler delete and there is NO DRONE at all. The exhaust note coupled with the CAI sound is perfect IMO.
