In a post in another forum, the owner says the D was totaled. I don't see it but maybe. I'm impressed by how intact the passenger compartment is after a double roll like he describes.

I'm dismayed at the comment at the bottom by the guest. I take it as a jab at the D instead of being support that the thing saved their friend's life.

Yeah, I can see it totaled. A gal who works at my son's BP station had a tree fall on her year or two old Ram 1500. Pushed the roof down a bit, knocked out the windshield and back window?dented the hood and front fenders. Orignal quote on the damage was around $10,000 and they started a rebuild. Total is going up every day. The shop is starting to make noises about how it'll never be the same. The gal and her husband are trying to get the insurance company to just total it so they can get something new.

Looking at it in the shop it really doesn't look that bad but when you start to think about refitting the doors and stuff?lotsa labor!

I'd think they were making the comment more towards the Hemi engine. Maybe whomever wrecked this D had a lack of driving experience and the Guest at the bottom knew so.

:?

Anyways, looks like a terrible wreck. Looks like the D took it well for how bad it was.

should have let go of the gas instead of accelerating?is friends probably had a bad feeling with the way he drove the Durango.
I agree. In my semi professional opinoin in order for him to roll it two times he had to be going faster than the road conditions dictated. 'Tis a shame what he did to the Durango, but I'm glad to see the D took care of him.

Based on the drives account of what happened, sounds like the classic "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going" situation. So he finds himself with 2 wheels off the side of the road when he stops messing with whatever it was he was doing instead of driving, hits the gas, the truck starts fishtailing, and it rolls?

If he was paying attention to driving, the D wouldn't have had to save his dumb ass. Harsh, but some times the truth hurts. First, he's got wheels off the pavement. No excuse for that. Second, He gets on the throttle rather than just steering the truck back on to the pavement. There are very few instances where hitting the gas is the correct reaction to a problem. Third, he over corrects the steering and ends up going off the road on the opposite side(good thing there were no other cars near by).

Mike, I agree with your assessment.

Subject change:
Did anyone else look at the rest of the photos on his site?
I did. He looks like a balding dork, however his wife is fairly H-O-T :cheesy:
Seeing the photos from over the years, time has been continuously kind to her. LOL

Looks like this guy got lucky twice. Once in love and once in the rolling D. :bugeyed:

Not yet, but I'll do that when I'm done playing with the squiggly line thing. Indy, you're just filling up my day with things to do!
