Looking for some suggestions on replacing my stock 9012 halogen headlight bulbs in my 2015. One headlight bulb died and I want to explore all my options before install new basic halogens. Converting to LED bulbs is not off the table.
The plug is fiting but the socket is a little different. You have Vleds micro evolution and me micro extreme bulbs. That's different.I had no issues, warnings or anything upon switching them out. No kits or harnesses, just the bulbs. I don’t know what the bulb check system is (or if it’s on or off) I’ve never seen anything in reference to that.
I did notice however that your 2015 Durango uses the 9012 HIR2 bulb. However, my 2018 Durango SXT has the 9005 HB3, which is what I installed. Maybe the difference in bulb type has something to do with it?
You might be able to modify it to make it fit. I know that the 9012 bulb is the correct bulb type for ‘14-15 Durango. Not sure why the change. You should try contacting vleds and see what they say about your issue. I’m sorry they haven’t worked out.The question is whether the plugs fit accordingly.

I think 9012 fits 9005 without modification. But if you do need to remove the 3mm that can easily be done with an exacto knife. Do you think the 9005 Micro Extreme would work? The question is whether the plugs fit accordingly.

That’s too bad, I don’t know what changed for there to be a difference between your model year and mine. And I’m sure it’s expensive to ship to Germany just for trial and error. That's a good question. At the moment I have lost the desire to continue experimenting with Led bulbs.

,,Hi,
We have not yet had a 2015 Dodge Durango in our R&D shop as of yet.
There are three different possible solutions:
1: Simple Plugin Error Cancellers can be found here:

9005 9006 ERROR CANCELLER
LED Headlight Error CancellerOur error cancellers will eliminate flickering, and bulb out warning messages on vehicles with load monitoring systems. We've also incorporated an extra plug to easily add our VLR-6 resistors. These resistors provide an extra 2A analog load for those extra finicky...www.vleds.com

2: Plug and Play Load Resistor Kit, these can be found here:

VLR SEALED HEADLIGHT RESISTOR KIT
Our exclusive VLR Headlight Load Resistors accomplish the same task as a common gold resistor but are easier to mount, have a lower profile, and run 50% cooler. Constructed using a wire wound resistor potted inside of a black anodized aluminum heat sink, these are the most weatherproof and...www.vleds.com

A customer with a Dodge Durango called in a couple months ago and said he used a program to turn the Bulb Check System Off on the headlights of his Dodge. He said this totally took care of the bulb out warning system on the headlights.
The company who makes this program is called: Appcar. They can be found here:

I hope this information helps and, please do not hesitate to ask if you have any other questions!,,
What would the dust caps have to do with it?I make last try. I will order a resistor kit and try out. Replacement dust caps too. If it doesn't work, I'll send all them back. Plus almost 38 euros.
With this parameter change did you still need can cancellers or does it make the LEDs plug and play? And what OBD2 connector did you use? I have been fighting with the headlight on my wife's 2015 limited AWD for over a year, I have 2 cancellers hooked together on both sides, it worked for a while but they are turning off sometimes now. The factory halogen headlight bulbs are the worst I have ever seen. I was about to switch to silverstar ultras and then mount an led light bar, but if this works it would be amazing. I literally asked this question to a dodge dealership and they had no idea what I was talking about. Could this program also be able to make it where the fog lights stay on when the high beams are turned on? I know it's illegal, but I live out a way and need all the light I can get to avoid deer and other critters.I still found a solution for my LED issue.
From my 2015 there's a possibility to configure / specify with AlfaOBD LED bulbs in the system.
