Hi Folks!

I know the load leveling shocks is a much more confusing topic than it should be, but I managed to replace mine with the KYB shocks.

I purchased a used 2014 with the LL shocks.
Tried to get some Mopar ones (at about $800 each CDN - ouch) but on back order. Dealer told me to call back in a few weeks.....

So, took a chance even though I know some folks had issues with the KYB.

In short - ordered off Amazon, KYB SR2009 Excel-G Self Leveling Shock
got em installed - no issues to date!

Since I bought the vehicle used, I can't compare with the mopar feel - but it certainly feels alot better than the pair of old, blown shocks!
(Price of shocks was less than half mopar's cost.)

The only hiccup - shipment was lost enroute, so I had to re-order. It took over a month to arrive in the end....

IF these blow out premature I'd probably go with the bliz or other non LL option, but for now I am a success at using the KYB.(y)

No changes were required for me.
Not sure if they adjusted compared with the other hiccups folks faced, or if this is a different 'model'.

For me it was a direct swap from the stock springs.

Hi Folks,
Sorry, I should have took photos during the process.

Key things I can confirm:
  • I used/swapped the mounts off the OEM and straight onto the KYBs.
  • no modification required.
  • diameter of the rod was the same, same size bolt.
This is the amazon.ca link to what I purchased. kyb shocks

Did the rear shock mount look like this?

Build thread: 2016 R/T - awehlage’s build
yes i beleive so. I updated my original post with some photos (had the wheel off on the weekend, so snapped a couple photos).
but I can confirm that the shocks I took off were sachs (the ones in post #7 were my take offs)

This IS the mount used with the old sachs and the NEW KYB
