Hoping I can find a solution here rather than pay the dealer a service fee for something that may be an easy fix.

If I double-click the remote start button on my keyfob, the horn honks, the lights blink and the engine briefly tries to turn over, then stops. I've searched the forums for some tips and none of the "usual suspects" seem to apply.

It fails whether the car is locked or unlocked.
I've not remote-started it 3 times in a row without starting it via the dashboard, so it shouldn't require a "reset."
The gas tank is full.
Transmission is in Park.
This has happened at multiple locations (church, neighbor's house, at home in the garage).
I've tried with both my keyfobs, so I don't believe it's a keyfob battery issue.
I have no check engine light or other warning lights on the dash.
It has always worked fine in the past. This behavior only started last week.
The engine immediately starts up via the dashboard start/stop button, so it doesn't seem to be a car battery issue.
Any suggestions?
I have the same problem… after the normal lights and lock behavior, the starter hits for one “chunk” and the display goes blank. Standard push-to-start works fine.
I see that there TWO BATTERIES in the compartment under the seat. Which do I test?

Test both as they work together and if one is bad then replace both together. Add your signature so that we know you have the V6 when you post a question.
I updated my info. This is a 5.7 R/T. I was wrong about the two batteries deal. After I opened the well, she has only one. Getting it tested tomorrow.
