Yes, I know, don't get that car if you worry about MPG.

But I still want to know :p

What are you new SRT owners getting?

Purple, I don't think anyone even looks.... I have a 15 RT AWD Durango and a 16 Charger SRT and I just stop when it gets to 1/4 tank. It is so subjective to the driving. I can get 20-22 on my SRT, but then only 16-18 on my Durango if I am hammering it. But some people will post hopefully soon-- but all I am saying, it's like the price of milk and bread......does it matter in the end a day later when you are on the crapper? it all goes down the drain one way or another.... it's about quality of life, and enjoying yourself.

So what do you drive? you buying something soon? Let's start with what does the sticker SAY on an SRT and what are they really getting? that will tell us who has their foot in the pedal and isn't thinking about that break in period :)

I just want to know, what's possible. I'm perfectly fine with 15 or even less. But I feel more comfortable, if it's possible to do 20 on long travels since I'm planning on making a camper out of it (see my other thread).

At the moment I have a C6 Corvette, which I'm about to trade in for the SRT. Additionally I have a Subaru Outback and my GF has got a Smart. We want to reduce cars ;-) that's why I can "combine" the Subaru and the Vette. :p

We're been using the Vette like five times a year which is stupid. Main reason is, that we use my cars only on weekends, but then of course were traveling and the Vette isn't very useful for that.

But in general,I know what it means to have cars like that. In the last 20 years I had

- DeLorean
- TransAm
- Camaro
- Seville STS
- C5
- another Camaro
- C6

and some other cars like the Subaru.

We live in Switzerland, where having US cars is really a "special lifestyle" :)

I totally get it, I had a C6 as well, and a C4 in college. I am restoring a C4 now just because I really loved that car, but I agree, the Vette is impractical once you already have the girl- lol.
The comfort and speed you will get in the SRT will far outweigh anything in the Vette and I am thinking its even faster! Now isnt fuel over there like 3x as much as ours? next time lead with that! that makes a big old difference if you have paying more than $2.50-3.00 USD converted over there!

I had a GTA Trans AM in college as well, before the C4 - the days of TPI and V8 torque! you go Northstar in the STS? that was big over here......

FIll in some BIO info dude so we can know a little bit about you- where you are means a world of diff when needing questoins answered sometimes and I would have given you a totally different response than assuming you were just a penny pinching millennial or something trying to justify the purchase.

Penny pinching millenial! :D
That's awesome!

Ok now I understand. I followed your recommendation and added some stuff to my profile. Actually I just converted the price of fuel in US gallons... which is about 6$ ;)
But of course our wages are very different.

Yes, was a 1998 Cadillac which had all Northstar stuff.

Everybody that I talk to about the SRT Durango says that now I completely lost my mind  but that's what they all said when I got my first car (DeLorean), so it's not really a big Thing ;)

This week my dealer should receive the 2018 R/T's. Maybe on Saturday I can go have a look at them and then we just have to agree on pricing and packages for the SRT. It's well possible, that I'm soon going to order.

Hey Purple:
Welcome to the forum, and your pending SRT ownership! I know what they cost here, so I cannot imagine what the sticker would look like at a dealership in your part of the world.

By the way, when you got that DeLorean up to 88 mph, did anything strange or unusual happen????? :0)

Thanks ;)

"If" the DeLorean ever hit 88mph.... :D

But going somewhere and getting out of the car certainly got some attention!

The Rango will clock in around 85k swiss. Exchange rate is pretty much 1:1 right now.

That's with pretty much all extras except demonic leather and DVD rear entertainment.

If it means anything, my average in my 15' RT with larger and heavier tires ranges from 19-20 on hwy to 15-16 city. This is with Eco always OFF. Checked with hand calculations and the trip computer was optimistic by about .5. So I'd be willing to bet that an SRT with stock/street tires will easily match if not exceed these numbers. It's all how you drive though. When my wife is behind the wheel the avg tanks.

This is EXACTLY how I'd like to think about it :D

I use my cars only for weekends and hollidays. I avoid city driving like the plague! two years ago I had to drive my Vette through the middle of Zurich and it made me insane! It's like spending the fuel for all those idiots around you without having fun or using it the way it's ment to be :D

And yes, I also enjoy to see what's possible to get out of it and rather floor it later when driving a winding mountain pass road.

We just got home from a road trip to Newport, Va. from the swamp, Fl. Our dash gauge mpg jives with actual gal fuel/mile calculations of 25.7MPG exactly.
We didn't drive anywhere else in the SXT while up there, as we were graciously "chauffeured" all over Northern VA by our friend in her Ford pickup. And I do mean ALL over.
So mileage is basically ALL highway. The estimated weight of our added load including occupants was 550Lbs. Gauge-reported round-trip miles traveled was 1723, using 87octane. I'm greatly satisfied with those numbers.
We had only one "anomaly" on the trip, and that was with tire pressures. I lost 4 lbs in all tires on the trip up somehow. Very odd! :?
BTW; I want to sell the swamp and move to those mountains. Truly "God's Country"!

Here are my calculated averages through 5 fill ups. 14.44, 14.69, 14.22, 14.32 and 15.38. My commute is roughly 30 miles one way with average speeds near 60 MPH. The most recent tank was almost all commute miles with little in-town driving. For reference my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT had a lifetime average of 16.01 through 38,000 miles. I am an engineer...I have a spreadsheet for this stuff! :D

About the same here. I use ecomode mostly because I feel it makes up for the other times when I get on it. I once tried to see how high I could get the MPGs and for a whole tank and not getting on it once, and in mixed driving, I had 18 mpg. Not too bad. But I didn't buy it for that. I just had the perfect moment the other day getting onto a highway from about 5 mph and took it all the way to 110 mph. Felt like I was doing 70 when I let off. That romp dropped my average down into the 13s just by itself.

i'm averaging 13 mpg on my R/T, i'd probably be in the single digits with an SRT.

Yep, that's about my average with an 18 AWD R/T. Listening to her purr makes me push the pedal down further! My wife would have KILLED me if I had bought the SRT instead, she thinks the R/T is obnoxious LMAO!

5 tanks so far, almost all around town, some spirited driving most tanks. On avg 13.7-14.2, on the highway I can get closer to 18-19 cruising around 80 for my 70 mile commute. in Eco i can get close to 15 around town but the minute you step on it, the MPG's are toast. As others have stated, I didn't buy it for the gas mileage......for comparison my wifes 15 RX350 avg's 18-19 a tanks between city and highway so I think the SRT does pretty well for what it is.

Just took mine on a trip to AZ. Ended up Averaging 16.8 on the freeway and that was at anywhere from 80-110 MPH plus a little in town driving. 91 octane. My city Avg has been abysmal at 9.4. I plan to try using eco mode around town to see what I can get. I now have 1500 miles on it. Stopped for some pics on the way...

My city driving/commuting is about 9.5-9.7MPG... so about the same. But again, not too unexpected. Well.. maybe it is a little worse than I expected... I was thinking more like 10 or 11.
