Hi everyone!

Given that this is a "new" model (for a lack of a better term) - I am wondering what are the real MPGs for the 8-speed. Do you have the 6 or Hemi? What would you say is your city/highway ratio?

Just trying to get real world numbers to help me choose.

Thank you in advance!

Just a little update. 2014 awd R/T. Purchased brand new April of 2014. Currently 20k miles. City 16.2 mpgs, highway 22-24 mpgs, combined city/hwy 18-20. Not bad for normal driving. No hypermilling, no speeding, just normal in my opinion. I am very happy with the constant 16.2 city mpgs, 2 more than what is stated. Once in awhile we get 17. Did mange to get 18 in the city once doing some minor hypermilling driving.

Just did a 3000 mile road trip from Iowa, down over Knoxville, up the Blue Ridge Parkway, to Gettysburg and back to Iowa. So highway, hills, 45 mph stretches on the BRP and some city driving. Saw a total MPG average of 21.1 MPG with the V8.

just did a 122 mile road trip. Weather was 97 degrees, (HVAC was set to Auto at 72 degrees). Elevation varied between 300 and 1000 feet. Fuel was chevron mid-grade. Speed was mainly 66 MPH and I did ~15 miles city. The D recorded 22.7 MPG I calculated 22.29 MPG. On my refill I didn't use the same pump but it was the same chevron station. I need to see how the D manages the cylinder de-activation. I believe that it may not work past a certain MPH.
Cheers

I am blown away so far, 2016 R/T V8 purchased new with 5 miles on it. 250 mile trip home changing speed, eco on and off for the first 500 miles it got 22mpgs. Towing 5000lb Cruiser RV Shadow Cruiser S20HS trailer first time, 15.5mpg to the camp ground, 12.5mpg on the way back, 65 miles each way lots of hills 55-60mph very windy. Around town with a slight mix on hi-way has been 21mpg the first fill up and 22mpg the second fill up, temperatures have been 70 to 100 degrees. Took a 200 mile trip last weekend, continued on with the towing tank of gas and rebounded to 20.5mpgs by the time I needed to fill up. I filled up right before I left to come home and have a 100% all free way mpg test, drove all the way home with 1 stop and got 25.4mpgs, 4 people and all the other space was full of bags, over 100 degrees out A/C on auto 72 degrees the whole way, eco mode on the entire way as well pretty flat the entire way, pretty much 74mph the whole way. I have only had this vehicle for a month or so and I love it so far. I was hoping to get 20mpgs with this Dodge coming from a 2014 Honda Ridgeline where we got 22mpgs on trips I am very happy at this point. I use Chevron 89 mid grade fuel. My oil temps are 200-230 degrees, my trans temp is 192-195 towing or not so far. I like the ability to see all the temps and pressures.

Hello All,

New 2015 Durango SXT V6 AWD with tow package here. Just passed 5,000 miles and have been getting 19 mpg on the commute to work (dash shows 19.9 mpg) with eco button off. We took a long trip to Charlotte, NC from Cincinnati, OH and managed 22.1 mpg (dash showed 23.1 mpg) with eco button off. Towing the pair of SeaDoos last weekend I managed 18.5 mpg.

Other than the display being off my almost 1 mpg compared to the pump calculation I am happy with the fuel economy.

For comparison my previous vehicles.

Dash display was consistently off by .6 compared to the pump calculation for each of these vehicles.

2012 Ram 1500 quad cab Hemi 4wd 6spd 15 mpg commute 19 highway/long trips 16 while towing a pair of SeaDoos (56,000 total miles driven)
2004 Dodge Durango Hemi 4wd 5spd 16 mpg commute 19 highway/ long trips 16 while towing a pair of SeaDoos (155,000 total miles driven)

Around town, no freeway, we average about 15-16 mpg's on our 2015 SXT, today we drove from our home about 40 miles on the freeway and averaged a little over 27 mpg (it was reset once I started on the freeway). I was purposely driving more carefully to try and get the best fuel economy. I was driving about 65-70 mph with only a small pocket of traffic (amazing since its an L.A freeway) We have only about 400 miles on her and this was our first "long" drive.

'15 V6 Limited. On the tanks that are 80/20 city/highway driving, we can average 18. On the majority freeway tanks (mostly weekends), we can get in the 19.5 - 21 range. Never ever use Eco mode. Don't like the way the rig feels with it on. Just end up mashing the gas harder to achieve the same performance with Eco off.

2015 R/T
See around 14-15 city
21-24 highway, even with lot's of hills around here
Took a trip last week with the new trailer, 27' 5000lb dry weight and several 6-7% grades and averaged 9.5mpg.

2015 SXT - Eco mode - 87 octane - getting about 13-14 mpg. Generally city driving... I don't even feel like I'm pressing the gas hard or anything. It's so bad on gas but I'm coming from a corolla as a daily driver... Threw an intake on and it didn't help much.

just got in it this morning. my wife is averaging 18 mixed city/hwy.

last weekend with the cruise set at 77 and a big thule box on top, 4 people, 2 dogs, and lots of stuff i got 21.8. If i watch i can get that to 23.5 or so.

if i slow down i can get it over 24. but that's also paying attention to how i drive and taking it easy on the hills.

Are you guys using 87? Or a different type of fuel? Because I feel like I am getting the lowest on the board? Any ideas? I am using 87? And it is a majority city driving.

V6 - AWD - One hundred percent its 87 - and Im only on my 2nd gas tank - I put an intake on. - i figured that would help a microbit. But i just feel like I am doing bad with it - I am driving with ECO Mode on too.

Averaging around 16-17 in the city. Don't drive on higways that often.

AWD adds a little drag (internal friction of all the added moving parts). Changing the induction will have some effect though I can see arguments for and against. I would have waiting until the car was broken in a little before making changes like that. The V6 runs on regular so that shouldn't be a problem. You don't say what city you're in but I'm from NYC and driving around there I wouldn't be surprised to see numbers that low. You are also jumping to worries too soon. Let it break in some more. Also, make sure you're doing the math not just relying on the computer. Make sure you fill it all the way up. Reset one of the trip odometers. Drive it till almost empty. Refill, again make sure you top it off to the same level as before. Check the trip odometer. Miles driven divided by gallons used.

PS - Apologies in advance. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence. You'd be amazed at how many really, really, smart people don't know how to accurately determine actual fuel mileage.
