So i recently purchased the 2014 Citadel.. 2 weeks in, this rattling sound starts.. Sounds like somethings loose. It only happens when Im in a higher gear at low rpms'. Mostly 5th gear about 1300 - 1500 rpm, I'm assuming its in eco mode. You could say it almost sounds like its buzzing. I don't know if its coming from the driver side door panel or the driver passenger door. Its hard to tell when I'm the only one in the car. Its driving me crazy!! Kinda reminds me of my sun glasses buzzing in the overhead compartment (and no, i don't have my sun glasses in there - I checked). I'm hoping someone figured this one out already..
Please help!!

Next time you hear the sound, try putting pressure lightly with your left foot on the parking brake and see if it goes away.

My mechanism is known to vibrate and buzz at certain times.

No vibration noises in my '14 Citadel.
A lot of dealerships have someone who is like a rattle/vibration specialist so they should be able to help if you are having trouble pinpointing the source of the noise.

Just a question but when you feel the vibration at cruise is a higher load being applied ? Or does it happen no matter what ?

Thanks Chase300 I'll be sure to talk to my local dealer.. I didn't take it in just yet. Being a mechanic myself, I don't want them thinking I'm just another over worried customer.

Robfrmny21 it comes on at curising speeds, no load. And it's an everyday thing. If I'm in a higher gear/ low rpm, it buzzes. Once I accelerate it goes away. Usually between 1300-1500 rpm in 5th or 6th gear does it make that noise. It's the low frequency of the engine that vibrates something in the cab.

Is it up in the dash?
I've heard some say the plastic surround for the center speaker can make noise on rough roads...
Sup Chase300... So I tried the e-brake trick that Turborusty suggested and it didn't work. Today I tried to listen better to where it was coming from and it sounded like somewhere in the dash.. Driver side. Idk if the sound is traveling across the windshield.. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some time off and I can troubleshoot better. Thanks for the help man.. Appreciate it

What I would do when customer come in with rattles and I couldn't figure it out, I'd gather there stuff and put in a bag then test drive. I wanted to make sure it wasn't something in the car making the noise.
My wife left our ezpass in the pass door pocket and it was bouncing around driving me nuts.
Just a idea remove as much as you can to make sure it's the car and not the stuff inside.
I've seen some weird stuff like that be for.

Could it be drone/vibration from the four cylinder mode? A buddy of mine has a Solo axle back on a Chevy with cylinder deactivation. When it bumps into four cylinder mode, the exhaust has a slight drone. I swear, I can hear the D's stock exhaust doing something similar.

I have the same noise. It seems very intermittent. Not an every day thing. Your description matches what/where I hear it, though. 2014 Citadel

Didn't the Honda Odyssey need active engine mounts to combat the vibes inherent in a 6 cyl running in 3 cyl mode? I know these aren't the same (odd verses even number of active cylinders) but it's a thought...

I think it is, but when I roll down my window.. I don't hear any rattling noise. I only hear it from in the cab.

Not sure if you have the hemi or not but I get the same with the v6 when I'm in town in a high gear and the motor almost bogs down... If you ever drove stick and been in two high of a gear you know the noise/drone.

It may be that shaking something.. Have a passenger ride with you and put pressure on the dash while you drive. Put in in manual and find a bug parking lot or back road

We have the same issue with our 2014 V6 D. Been to the dealership 2x - still unable to track it down always at lower speed (35mph or so), 6-7 gear and around 1500 rpms. Driving me nuts
